The aroma is full with sweet nuttiness, a touch of chocolate and building notes of a cedar like twang. The taste begins with the classic Bolita creamy near velvety mouthfeel ushering in nutty and roasty malts. Like the nose the cedar joins in midway to go along with fading nuttiness and persistent roasty malts. Yum. The modest cedar notes really add to the experience.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Dec 16, 2009 Handbottled. A slightly hazy deep red beer with a thin tan head. The aroma has strong notes of cedar wood as well as medium notes of caramel, and malt. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of cedar wood and medium notes of caramel, malt, and a bit of roasted malt, leading to a dry woody - cedar like finish. The body is light. Thanks a lot MadsBerg for sharing. Papsoe (15103), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Pours a clear orangey brown with a small, rough off-white head. Very spicy sweet chili-like aroma - again must be the cedar. Medium body, sweet caramel and nuts, a little low in carbonation. Again dominated by these amazingly interesting and exotic cedar accents. Some alcohol burn in the finsh. 161209 tarheels86 (791), Washington DC, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 4, 2009 Had this on tap at the Kickback’s Gastro Pub in Jacksonville, FL for the CCB tasting night. Except this version was aged on cigar box cedar and Johnny Walker Blue Label oak chips. Pours a murky deep brown with a thin, yellow head. Retarded big aroma of cedar cigar box, whiskey spiciness. Bit of orange peel and dark chocolate too. Taste is similar with an extremely dry body. Light mouthfeel. Very interesting. Yum. Aftertaste is only weak point. Not much whiskey or barrel flavor. Lots of resiny, citrusy dry cedar. jcwattsrugger (5532), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

S: Standard bolita aroma up front. Nice roast with bold nuttiness. Strong notes of coffee and chocolate. The cedar is there though in a fairly big way. It comes off mildly earthy and a touch spicey.
T: Solid as well. Roasty and tasty up front with the flavors mentioned above coming out in taste. The cedar is there for sure. Woody and spicey.
M: Medium in body, great mouthfeel.
