Commercial Description:
The Humidor Series is a rotating offering of Cigar City Brewing beer aged on cedar. Cedar has a more subtle effect on beer than more traditional woods like oak. But, we think that once you taste it you’ll agree that cedar deserves a place alongside oak in the brewer’s wood-aging toolbox.

Well, the aroma is the best so far - I love cedar and good bud. A nice hazy orange color. The body has a nice bud / cedar like character. Vastly better than the regular Jai Alai. This was awesome.

Bottle. Pours hazy orange with a lively white head and lacing. Nose is big on wood, floral hops, dry spices, and some citrus. Flavor is fairly malty, with a big backlash of hops, lots of cedar and spices. Full-bodied, yummy as hell. Could drink a dozen or so.

750 ml bottle thanks to Ibrew2or3. Pours a cloudy orange color with a large white foamy head. The aroma is quite nice; woody, sweet citrus hops. The flavor is great; a superb mix of citrus hops- only lightly bitter- with a perfect addition of wood. Very drinkable and soft with a ton of flavor. A great mouthfeel.

Bottle shared by northernbrews at the Sept. 09 Metro Detroit tasting. Amber pour with a loose white head. Aroma of honey, caramel, dry cedar, slight citrus, dry pine needles and a hint of juniper. The flavor is piny and minty with more juniper notes, a dry cedar finish and a sweet honey malt backbone. Creamy medium body with soft carbonation.

Much thanks to Hopshunter! Pours a very cloudy orange and never clears. Strong off-white head hangs forever with massive lacing. HUGE nose. I could smell this from 6 feet away. Grapefruit, lemon, spice and malts. Much more complex then the normal IPA citrus-fest. Extremely well balanced hops. Citrus up front that gives way to a spicy finish. Bitter to bring it home. I think a tiny bit more malt would balance this out perfectly. Sadly, cedar is non-existent. Mouth feel is a tad bubbly. I roll it around and it gets instantly foamy. Carbonation is pretty prickly. I’d tone it down a bit. I was worried about this. After the Cigar City swill that they call a RIS, I wasn’t expecting anything from this, but wow! As a cigar smoker, I was really looking forward to the cedar, but it’s not present at all. Great beer!

buckle up buttercup! .. . god, aroma is amazing, a well baked pinecone and cedar (fresh humidor) .. . pours a kickass causing dark rich gold tan with a fantastic silly fun cream head, lacing is cute as a button.. . abv is so well hidden and the subtle refined whiffs of cedar to sap are just wonderful, and super tasty! .. . aroma is just to awesome and the flavours, light peppery spice from the cedar, so intriguing and unique.. joey, you sir have started something that will/should take off like california wildfires.. . this is the highlight of all the beers i tried/picked up while in Orlando! .. . does it get better than this?

Thanks to Jeff for bringing this to the Metro Tasting. Pours cloudy orange with a white head. Aroma is oranges, cedar and orange zest. Taste is much the same with a bit of spicy cedar character, grapefruit, well rounded and smooth. Pretty easy drinking stuff.
