Bottle while on vacation in Orlando. Pours amber gold with decent head. Plenty of lacing. Plenty of floral and citrusy hops. Grapefruit and pine. This was countered by the malty sweetness, and perhaps a bit of fruit. I love to get the bottom of the bottle and get some of that yeast. While it didn’t add much in the way of flavor, as would be the case in a Belgian offering, the yeast here was great at mellowing out the hops. As it warmed it turned into smooth but complex beer. The alcohol was very well hidden. Extremely smooth IPA.

Bottle from daknole. Thanks! Good bit of cedar on the nose. Very woody. Iced tea, lime, floral notes. Citrus underneath and some toast. Murky orange amber pour creamy beige head. Spicy cedar, toasty, lime, iced tea. Lots of tasty cedar. Very noticeable regular jai alai flavors with cedar added. Drinks nicely, dry cedar aged finish. Nice, interesting.

thanks riversideAK! Spectacular herbal cedar nose, i’m in heaven. I love cedar and this works aromatically on many levels. Dark hazy gold. Brew with more cedar people! Juicy apricot, abruptly dry. Cedar everywhere. Surrounding and supportive. I love this concept and i’m excited at their execution with this series.

750ml from riversideak...you da man! Resiny pineapple nose with some lemon/lime rind. But the most predominant smell is cigar box. Malty and sticky up front then moves right into tobacco cedar and finishing up with bittering hops. Such a fantastic use of a under utilized wood. Great stuff and I am looking forward to trying more of the Humidor series.

Bottle from thecheeseman. Thanks Daniel! Pours a hazy orange with a small white head. Strong woody nose with the hops taking a backseat but definitely present. Some grapefruit and pine bitterness from the hops but also a lot of wood. A lot. Kind of a peppery finish.

aroma of pine and smooth finish of wood that is initially sharp. as the sample opens, more and more wood comes to light. flavor is stinging bitterness all around and yet more savory wood. i begin to realize that what initially seemed to be hop character is also wood and soon the cedar has enveloped me. hop bill is clearly well played against the cedar, as oak IPAs have failed me before either for the use of oak or the strains themselves.

Pours hazy copper color with white head. Cedar and citrus hop aromas. The cedar adds a nice woodiness much different than oak. Citrus hops, cedar and pepper are the dominant flavors. Finishes with sweet malts. Medium body with average carbonation. A very different and very good IPA.

Bottle from Josh. He’ll join one of these days. Pours a hazy sort of blood orange color with a good, stiff finely bubbled off-white head. Lots of citrus, lowkey caramel, and fruit for aromas, along with something herby/woody. Medium body with frothy creamy carbonation. Flavor is mixed hop, mild caramel, and it moves to something woody. Never "ate" cedar before. Turns the ale astringent. Very. Very different from oak. Finishes toward floral, so the bitter isn’t what it started as. But with the wood, hop and astringency this is one tasty brew. Note: gave palate a 5 cause this is so new and pleasingly different to my mouth.
