Commercial Description:
The Humidor Series is a rotating offering of Cigar City Brewing beer aged on cedar. Cedar has a more subtle effect on beer than more traditional woods like oak. But, we think that once you taste it you’ll agree that cedar deserves a place alongside oak in the brewer’s wood-aging toolbox.

Source: Trade with Garry. Aroma: Dank weed. Amazing. Appearance: Golden beautiful beer with 1 finger white head. Flavor: Nice piney/grapefruit flavor, with a light wood finish. Really tasty. Palate: Medium to high carbonation. Overall: Style bender, but really delicious brew.

Bottle shared by mfielden on BA - thanks Mark! Pours a cloudy golden-amber with noticeable sediment and a creamy white head that leaves some nice foam. Aroma is citrusy hops, sweet malt, and lots of wood. Flavor is sweet pale malt and cedar balanced by grapefruity hops. A little spice as well, especially lemon pepper. Palate is nice and smooth with soft carbonation. Another winner from CCB.

Cloudy copper appearance with a soapy, seductive head. Brilliant aroma of cedar and fresh, green hops. Loud grapefruit, pine, lemon, and brown sugar sweetness with a rich, bitter aftertaste that lands me in a humidor in the heart of little Cuba, searching for the perfect compliment. Truly perfect.

Bomber with big thanks to Beerlando. Pours a copper-amber with a good deal of dense white head. Very thick foam on this beer, and it’s not going anywhere soon! Aroma of cedar is evident from the moment I open the bottle. Aroma is a pleasant mixture of that same cedar and citrusy (grapefuit) hops and malt. Initial flavor is bitter hops, but then a wonderful roasty ceadr malt kicks in followed by a sweet, almost cinammon-spicey finish. Great mouthfeel and wonderful body on this beer. The alcohol comes through in the middle palate and is warming a pleasant. This is putting up a fight to be my favorite IPA so far! Excellent smooth, subtle, smokey quality to this brew, and I am very thankful, again, to Beerlando for sending it my way!

Bottle thanks to cavie. Pours a cloudy gold with off-white head. Aroma is very nice, very aromatic grapefruit hops, some malt. Flavor is malty, some wood, nice hoppy flavor with a nice complimentary bitter. Mouth feel is medium body with high carbonation. Overall, a very well made IPA!

First beer after a sixth week break. Big thanks to the florida crew for being so generous with the CCB stuff! Pours dirty orange with a small but lasting white head. Aroma is promising, the cedar almost gives this a woodsy hop note, and adds quite a bit of spice. Flavor comes through very bland. The hops have that terrible orange sucker oxidation flavor going on, and the cedar seems to get muddled into making them way too earthy. Has some nice hints of grapefruit and floral hopiness though. Caramel maltiness rounds this one out. Finish has an odd metallic and boozy twang, which is odd considering the ABV. A little low on the carbonation for an IPA.

Bottle shared by emacgee. Cheers, Ethan. Bright orange pour with light bubbly white head. Very spruce-like nose, a bit more than cedar. Very spicy nose. Hops come through grapefruity and spicy. Reminds me of rye quite a bit. Bitter rind notes on the finish. Dry and crisp at the end. Unique beer.
