Commercial Description:
The Humidor Series is a rotating offering of Cigar City Brewing beer aged on cedar. Cedar has a more subtle effect on beer than more traditional woods like oak. But, we think that once you taste it you’ll agree that cedar deserves a place alongside oak in the brewer’s wood-aging toolbox.

Bottle 75cl.
Clear medium orange color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, light heavy hoppy, grapefruit, orange, fruity, spicy, peppery and a dry finish. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, peppery and fruity. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090913]

Bottle courtesy of fogdog in the perfect 10v4 trade. Pours a hazy rich tawny orange with a large browned cream head. Huge damp pine, earth, and crisp cedar. The cedar’s quite clear and very interesting, picking up a dry citrus note. Remarkably creamy mouthfeel highlighted with some great bitterness and a nice crisp candied citrus and faint malt note. Spicy wood notes, and a long dry finish with cedar, grapefruit pith, quinine. Really tasty.

Bottle thanks to an american couple that shared them in the rake. Alround rating: Very piney and very bitter, theres some fruity lychee and grapefruit character that comes through, but its soo heavily bottle conditioned its not as clean as what it perhaps could be. Nice ipa all the same.

Bottle tasted at the Houston October RB gathering. Bronze and clear. Very dry and tart probably because of the cedar aging. Interesting and very drinkable.

bottle poured an orange amber in color with a nice thick one finger off white head. aroma has yummy sweet citrus hops, light bitterness, caramel, and a distinct whack of cedar. mouth feel is light and it has plenty of carbonation. flavor does have some caramel malt base, citrus rind, bitterness, pines, and some flowers. finishes nicely dry with a lingering bite. the cedar really makes this distinct, nice soft mellow wood, and the flavor is exactly like the smell of a cigar box. not only tasty but a cool concept.

Man, this is a delicious IPA, not terribly heavy on the bitterness, but all kinds of delicious citrus flavors from late-boil hops make for a wonderful aroma and a better flavor.

11/08/2009: Cigar City Humidor Series Jai Alai Cedar Aged India Pale Ale... Aroma: Very floral with quite a bit of perfume; a hint of orange. Appearance: Ruby/aged copper color with a foamy beige head. Flavor: Floral; hints of rose and grapefruit; fruity middle; hint of vanilla; soft finish; slightly dry; mild to moderate amount of bitterness. Palate: Medium-bodied. Overall: Quite good, but a bit over-hyped and over-rated...

1 Pt. 9.4 fl. oz. bottle shared by alexsdad06. Thank you Brad. I appreciate it! Rating #161 for this beer.

backlogged, bottle sent by Emacgee. Hazy orange with a medium off white head. Aroma of grapefruit, tropical fruit, pine, spicy cedar. Taste is hoppy with grapefruit, tropical fruit, a nice piney bitterness. Cedar is strong, which suprised me since the description said that it is more subtle than oak. Alot of woody spicyness, and oily. Body is medium, cedar and hop bitterness lingers.
