Commercial Description:
The Humidor Series is a rotating offering of Cigar City Brewing beer aged on cedar. Cedar has a more subtle effect on beer than more traditional woods like oak. But, we think that once you taste it you’ll agree that cedar deserves a place alongside oak in the brewer’s wood-aging toolbox.

bottle thanks to Cavie or ericandersnavy, who shared it at the Houston RB Tasting in October. Pours a cloudy amber with a white head. Nose is of fermented citrus fruit and wood. Taste is of citrus hops and tobacco. Mouthfeel is very bitter.

(Rating #2704)

750 ml bottle via trade with smith4498 - Pours a cloudy amber color with a one and a half finger thick off white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is floral, citrus, and pine hops with a touch of sweet toasted malt hiding behind the hops. I can’t detect any cedar in the aroma. I’m bummed because cedar is one of my favorite aromas. Flavor has a little more malt to it, but the hops still stand out. I’m not quite sure I’m detecting the cedar. There is a light spiciness I’m getting in the finish. Cedar? The finish is smooth and lacks that sharp hop bite I’ve come to enjoy in my IPA’s. Still, it’s not astringent, and that’s a plus. Medium to full body. A very nice beer. Thanks Jason.

This one poured a hazy orange color with an off white head. Aroma was sticky sweet malts, grapefruit, pine and cedar. Flavor was bright strong grapefruit, some pine, and then a big strong cedar taste to balance out the sweetness at the end. Very interesting beer.

750 ml bottle courtesy of ericandersnavy. Good floral and grapefruit aromas. Darker shade of orange body with off white foamy head. Good lacing left on mug. Mellow IPA with grafruit flavor some mild spice notes in the background. Good beer to relax to after work. Thanks Eric.

750ml bottle shared by DuffManSW, again, big thanks Sean. Rating #145. Very nice color, kind of orange with a slight pink tint to it. Great aroma as well, light pine and some citrus, very floral with some sweet spice as well. Hoppy flavor, more sweetness and a little spice, real nice hop character, very good beer. (1032)

750 ml bottle courtesy of Daknole. Pours a hazy red/orange color with a good sized off white head and a lasting veil of foamy lace. Heavy grapefruit aroma with a cedar undertone. Moderate in body, although sticky, with low carbonation. Flavor is grapefruit hop, as well as some other citrus fruits and pine. There’s just a subtle hint of cedar in the taste taking some of the edge off the hops. Very nice, thanks again Dak
