Growler courtesy of mar. Clear ruby appearance. Light aroma. Hints of dark malts but I am at a loss for the vanilla. Oh, there it is. Taste is HUGE vanilla. Lucky Charms in a bottle. Great taste that is sweet and smooth.

32oz growler thanks to hopscotch. Pours a nice amber brown with thin off-white head, larger bubbles move to a ring around the side, decent lacing. Aroma is very strong of vanillla, maybe a bit overboard, caramel, almonds, and decent malt. Flavor is absolutely dominated by vanilla and in my opinion just doesn’t lend that well to this brew. Drinkable and enjoyable, just not my combination for a nice brown.

Tap at Cigar City. Brown pour. Aroma is nutty and full of vanilla and caramel malt. Flavor is very nice. The vanilla melds well with the caramel malt and nutiness of the beer. So smooth and nice.

Growler thanks to ibrew2or3, you are the man Dave! Opened with a large pop, and pours a deep brown/amber color with a medium beige, almost orange head. The aroma is very nice; coffee, rich caramel, lots of malts and light vanilla. The flavor is very easygoing and tasty; lots of toasted malts, light toasted almonds, lots of vanilla, but in now way does the vanilla compete with the other flavors. A easy beer to drink 30 ounces of. Tasty and nice. My first from Cigar City, hopefully one of many.

Growler from the brewery: Pours a transparent dark amber mahogany with a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of sweet toasty caramel malts, some nutty notes and a touch of vanilla. Body starts with pretty good fullness and some mild dark caramel sweetness drying out revealing some earthy hoppy bitterness and vanilla flavor before a bittersweet toasty nutty finish. A pretty good brown ale.

One of my favorites from CCB. Pours brown with a medium white head. Aromas of vanilla take over and drag you into tasting it. First sip is killer with a beautiful symphony of vanilla and choc oats. Amazing brew.

Muchas thanks to Alan for sending the 32oz growler!! Poured clear, garnety-brown with a loose-bubbled cap of beige head.. color and clarity were great, and I’ll attribute the slight lack of carbo to the bottle. The aroma picked up syrupy caramel, molasses, and nutty notes accented by a serious dose of sweet, fresh vanilla bean.. the vanilla was the dominant character with warmth, and it helped create a very desserty impression. The flavor was almost entirely about the vanilla with a fresh, beany character.. aged caramel, toasted grains, and a pinch of sweeter chocolate at the core.. finished long with more of the vanilla. Very sweet on the palate with light-to medium body to it.. carbonation was light (again the bottle probably had something to do with it).. balance was quite solid. Excellent brew with just a little too much vanilla impression.
