One of my favorites from CCB. Pours brown with a medium white head. Aromas of vanilla take over and drag you into tasting it. First sip is killer with a beautiful symphony of vanilla and choc oats. Amazing brew.

Muchas thanks to Alan for sending the 32oz growler!! Poured clear, garnety-brown with a loose-bubbled cap of beige head.. color and clarity were great, and I’ll attribute the slight lack of carbo to the bottle. The aroma picked up syrupy caramel, molasses, and nutty notes accented by a serious dose of sweet, fresh vanilla bean.. the vanilla was the dominant character with warmth, and it helped create a very desserty impression. The flavor was almost entirely about the vanilla with a fresh, beany character.. aged caramel, toasted grains, and a pinch of sweeter chocolate at the core.. finished long with more of the vanilla. Very sweet on the palate with light-to medium body to it.. carbonation was light (again the bottle probably had something to do with it).. balance was quite solid. Excellent brew with just a little too much vanilla impression.

32oz Growler thanks to hopscotch. Pours a somewhat clear reddish brown with a thick foamy off white head. That same nose of the traditional maduro, with dark rich nuttiness, caramel and some subtle notes of vanilla. Its not as in your face as I was expecting which is good with a beer this low in alcohol. Slightly watery body but it is a brown ale after all so I can’t fault that, toasted almonds ands light chocolate up front with a soft caramel backbone, big juicy vanilla notes towards the end and a light bitterness to keep everything in balance. My favorite version of my favorite brown ale. Awesome!

Growler from the brewery. Pours a dark reddish brown with a thin off white head. Aroma of roasted grain, coffee and vanilla beans. The vanilla bean becomes more dominant as it warms. Taste is roasted grain and smooth vanilla bean with hints of chocolate. I find the vanilla to be much more complimentary to the taste of the brown ale. I know others preferred the espresso version of this, but I found this subtle and delicious and my favorite of the two.

Growler… Cloudy brown ale with a small, fat-bubbled, off-white head. Nutty, vanilla, chocolaty nose. Full-bodied and creamy with gentle carbonation. Full-flavored with lots of vanilla, chocolate and toasted nuts. Well-balanced. Sweet, but adequately bittered. Crisp, vanilla finish. I love vanilla beans.

I enjoyed a couple growlers of this, thanks to Cheeseman for picking them up. Pours brown with just a whispy white head. Carbonation seems a little lower on this. Aroma is strong vanilla. Pure vanilla beans. Nice. Flavor is similar to the original Maduro Brown. Lots of roast and nuttiness. The vanilla only hits in the finish. This is good, but I prefer the espresso version.

Growler: The aroma consists of vanilla, chocolate, and roasted nuts. It pours a transparent mahogany with a small off-white head that quickly fades to a very thin ring around the edges of the glass. The flavor starts with chocolate and lots of vanilla that builds into the finish. The finish also has roasted nuts and a hint of caramel. Light bodied with minimal carbonation and a thin mouthfeel.

Growler courtesy GodofThunder. Ruby color with a light head. Touch of vanilla in the nose with a touch of woodiness and tobacco makes it come across almost like a dipped cigar. But the strong vanilla flavor comes across like vanilla creme soda mixed with brown ale, not crazy about it, but vanilla isn’t my favorite. Easy finish.
