Aroma is sweet and malty with lots of vanilla and notes of chocolate, roast, brown sugar, nuts and caramel. Flavor is also sweet and malty with notes of vanilla, chocolate, coffee, wood, molasses, caramel and some hints of brown sugar and nuts. Medium body with a pleasing malty finish. A really easy drinking beer that would be great all night. Kevster (225), Bradenton, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 31, 2009 On tap @ The Brass Tap: Pours an amber brown with an off-white head that is mostly lasting. Vanilla is very evident in the roasty aroma and flavor with hints of caramel and chocolate malts. Has a medium body and creamy texture that is smooth and sweet in the finish. I prefer the normal Maduro Oatmeal Brown Ale. However, this is a nice twist on a very good recipe. fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 31, 2009 Tap. Pours a slightly hazy brown with amber highlights. Vanilla is huge in the nose with roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Taste is chocolate, light roasted malt, coffee, and just a hint of vanilla in the finish. Medium mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. Very good but if Cigar City combined the Vanilla Maduro and Espresso Maduro it would be a match made in heaven. TampaBrew (825), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 30, 2009 On tap at Brass tap. Murky brown, thin head. Immediately chocolate nose, then i realized it was the vanilla and dark malts melding to create this vanilla/chocolate ice cream nose. Flavors of smoke, vanilla, some roast, tobacco, cocoa, earth and mild bitterness. Has that signature, full body that all CCB beers have. Excellent offering! I could drink this all night. markwise (1186), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 30, 2009 Poured at Brass Tap. RATING#800. Incredible beer. Pours red-amber with a small off-white head. Nose is some tobacco, malt, and some sugar with mellow vanilla cruising throughout this incredible beer. Flavor is toasted malt, tobacco, mellow vanilla, and bits of caramel. Like the Espresso Maduro, the Vanilla sings along in harmony, but does not overly dominate any of the sonata. I loved this beer. Body was light to medium, and the finish was a nice blend of sweet vanilla, very mild bitter, and malts. Ibrew2or3 (2761), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 29, 2009 Poured up on tab at the 05/28/09 Brass Tap CCB tasting with a slightly hazy brown – amber body and nice looking lasting tan head with spotty lacing. The aroma is sweet with malts, vanilla and a dash of caramel. Overall the aroma is moderate in strength and is able to bend the will of the drinker to go ahead and take a sip even if you’re not ready. The taste is much roastier then the nose and is tempered by the smooth near creamy oatmeal-ness. It begins with mild vanilla and caramel notes before layers upon layer of roast to dark roastiness take over. The vanilla persists in the background and build some into the finish. It ends a bit roasty dry but with lingering vanilla sweetness. HOPSHUNTER (376), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 29, 2009 Draft at Brass Tap. Poured a dark reddish brown with a very thin egg-shell head. Aroma is full of strong sweet Madagascar vanilla, tobacco, and chocolate malt. Flavor is heavy with vanilla but not overpowering in my opinion. I could still taste the chocolate malt, toffee, and coffee flavors peeking thru. My favorite spin-off of Maduro so far. ObsceneOne (32), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 29, 2009 Pours a standard medioum brown with a small amount of head that quickly fades away. Aroma of toasted marshmellow on a cup of hot chocolate. The flavor is delicte and complex. Hints of chocolate, malt and mild coffee surfaces behind a strong vanilla attack. The beer was a little thin but that helps lend this to a more sessionable ale. I think this needs to apper as a 750
