| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 10, 2009 Sampled at GABF. Aroma is dry and chocolatey. Flavor is different than most browns, the oatmeal adds a lot. Kind of a nutty, spicy taste. Very smooth mouthfeel. Would love to have more of this. swoopjones (1923), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 5, 2009 A rich dark brown ale that is unlike most brown ales I have sampled. This is very dark brown in color with a full beige head. The aroma also puts you on notice of its richness. Dark roasted malts are the predominant taste followed by toffee and oats. THere is a significant dryness in the end. The mouthfeel is much thicker than a brown ale. I would have guessed a heavy proter or lighter stout craftbeerdesign (766), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 4, 2009 Pretty good for a brown ale. Full bodied and very heavily roasted malt, but not quite as much as a porter or stout. Very thick, for a brown ale. I assume the smoothness is from the oatmeal. Full palate, for a brown.
