| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 24, 2009 Picked up a 32-oz pharmaceutical shaped growler from Cigar City brewery in Tampa - filled by Joey R, himself. Pours a clear dark amber brown colored brew with an average sized off-white head that slowly dissipates. Aroma of roasted nuts, some toasted dark malt, a hint of chocolate and oatmeal. Taste is medium bodied, some tart dark chocolate and grain malt flavors with a hint of smoke and roasted nuts. Finish is slightly dry with a smooth texture, and a roasted dry nutty aftertaste. Not as sweet as the Bolita brown ale, but still smooth. I agree with the description, a well compliment to my favorite Macanudo milds. DalzAle (512), Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 22, 2009 Bottle. Amber brown caramel pour, little carbonation with a pleasant nutty and malt aroma. Flavor was chestnuts, smoky malts but surprisingly light and mellow on the finish. I really liked this one and will probably be looking for more of this in the future. tytoanderso (1387), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA

Tootsie Roll. Dried cocoa. An odd basil note as it warms. Light herbal hops. Pours a pretty dark amber/brown with a thin but frothy khaki head. Flavor is very simple. Lightly roasted chocolate malt, tree bark, light cocoa and watery coffee. The palate is watery throughout with a slightly bitter finish. Meh... Thanks Bob! MatSciGuy (641), Rosemount, Minnesota, USA

Aroma is smoky and rich, chocolate, oatmeal, pot in there as well. Flavor is thinner than the aroma would suggest. Nice and smoky, chocolate, dry cocoa, and a nice nuttiness. Very very rich nutty body with strong oatmeal flavor as well. This would indeed hold up with a Cigar. SudsMcDuff (1711), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA
