| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 7, 2009 Brown pour with hints of red. An earthy ashy aroma. A tad of an off flavor that’s not bad but just takes it down a tad. Thin and watery, I’m not sure if the pour from the growler took something away or what. A damn good beer. Brown malt that gives it a nice light sweet crackery character. A touch of light dried fruit and some sweet chewy maltiness. A touch of orange on the back as well. The smoke picks up as the beer starts to warm up and gives it a nice sweet richness. It’s a pretty solid brew. nickd717 (1384), Palo Alto, California, USA
