growler @ redlight redlight

thanks to godofthunder for the shariez

huge, fresh coffee grounds in the nose - fresh roasted coffee smells.. incredible. first time i had this joey poured it at the CCB tasting room for me and my insanely hungover friends... did the trick. the cacao nibs are really understated... you gotta focus to pick em up... dont know if that’s good or bad - but either way it’s delicious.

Big coffee aroma. No. Huge coffee aroma. A touch on the ashy side. Clear reddish brown. Lingering bitterness in the finish from the coffee. A little too thin. Basically iced coffee with beer in it. Not bad, though.

Quart growler from CCBC. Brown color with a frothy tan head. Sharp mocha, tobacco smoke aromas. Frothy mouthfeel. Good coffee, spicy chocolate flavors on a nutty brown malt base. A bit thin in the finish. Nice coffee brew.

Draft sample at Cigar City. Poured a clear brown color with an average creamy brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt and dark coffee aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth slick texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy roasted cuban coffee sweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Standout complex brew.

Growler courtesy the Cheeseman. Pours a deep brownish red with a thick tan head. Fresh ground espresso, chocolate aroma. Taste is light, medium malt with lots of coffee, chocolate and toffee. Great little session brown ale.

Growler fill @ the Brewery: Pours a dark brown with ruby tones. Body of pour is thin with a light tan head that diminishes quickly. Aroma smells almost burnt with a coffee bean aroma. Flavor is roasty with hints of vanilla, peppers and expresso. Body was thinner than I expected leaving my palate with mild dry and bitter finish. Easy drinking and enjoyable.

Old notes. 32oz growler. Ancho peppers, bell peppers, old, stale coffee and some thin chocolate notes on the nose. Pours a nothing too special dark amber. A tad watery looking. Flavor is very simple. Coffee, dry roasty malt and vanilla. Toasty, roasty, thin and watery body. Meh. Really average and the pepper aromas are just... weird. Thanks Bob!
