Bottle: Dark red brown with a foamy head that quickly disappears. Bitter chocolate, malty, sweet smells. Taste is bittersweet with notes of dark fruits and noticeable traces of it’s 7% alcohol content. From mid bottle on the taste is much lighter and less complex. I prefer the blonde Ciney.

Nice chesnut color with a creamy beige head. Smooth malty aroma’s with hints of dark malts, roasted nuts, brown sugar, wood and cigarcase. Full round taste with a good nutty accent and a faint fruityness that gives it balance. In the afthertaste soft malts and a little chcolate bitterness in the end.

Nice looking dark Belgian beer with a very fruity aroma, and a very fruity, slightly fizzy strawberry flavour. Overall a beautifully palatable and satisfying beer.

Bottled: Ruby red coloured. LIght brown dense head. Yeast, light sourness, some spices and fruit in the aroma. Flavour has notes of fruit (prunes), sweetness and again a light sourness in the background. Thin bodied and watery. Ends on a sweet note. Slightly boring.
