25 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden hazzlenut brown with a lacing tan head. Aroma is mild spiced, dry malty and with a light yeast note. Medium sweet breadish flavour with a distinct spice note following. Goes into a mild breadish malt finish. Yeasty fruit note into the far finish. Average dubbel imho.

2008-02-28. Very dark ruby tinged brown body wiha moderate frothy tan head (3+). Sweet flavour, moderate amounts of dark fruit throughout., tangy caramel and dark sugary malt. Aroma is modest, sweet with light sugars, lightly earthy note to the malt. Lingering fruit character in both the flavour and aroma. Average plus palate. (3+) Quite servicable, pleasant, but pretty average by Belgian standards.
Bottle at ’t Spinnekopke, Brussels

Decent beige head which left some lacing and dark red-brown colour. Yeast and a touch of malt in the aroma. Sweetish flavour, medium bodied, soft carbonated. The taste is malty, slightly fruity with dry plums.

Dark brown, decent tight head, which fades to something thin and wispy. Light crisp fruity aroma, sweet too. A little cold, harsh carbonation at this temperature. Taste is very sweet - burnt caramel, pleasant bitter tang too. Some sharp sour hint - not off sour, just sharp sour, and pleasant brown-ness. No trace of 7%. Wonderful sweet bruin, not too malt-obsessed. Quaffable.

Bottle @ Food Factory, Brussels. Colour is brown with tan head. Aroma is caramel / malty. Taste is caramel / chocolate / malty. Pretty bland this one, aroma draws you into thinking its something special, sadly not so.
