Low expectations, but they were not fullfilled. An okay brew with abbeynotes such as coriander, clear brown look, mediumthin corpus, dry fruits and highdrinkable! ChristianScheffel (4560), Odense, Denmark

Pours a nice deep brown with a rather small off white head. Aroma is great, toffee and caramel based with some Belgian sugar as well. Nice creamy palate. Flavour is sweet, but maintains a slight roasted/chocolate background as well as a tiny dash of hops. Well-balanced - and generally a good Dubbel. Quack-Duck (3274), Bodensee/Schwarzwald, Germany
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 25, 2007 bottle. Tiny head, malty nose. Flavours of malt, roasted malt and fruit. Slightly yeasty. There is a metallic flavour that I don’t really like. ChrisThomson (405), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 10, 2007 Candy-like sweetness has some solventy undertones. Clear ruby brown body is topped by a decent, fine bubbled, tan head that recedes to a thin but lasting cover with some patchy lacing. Decent candied malt sweetness with a nondescript round fruitiness and plenty of brown sugar. Medium body with soft bubbled effervescence that engages the tongue. Quite enjoyable despite it’s age. Bottle (Best Before 01/07, Bièropholie, Mar-06) sampled with Oakes in June 2007.
