radiomgb (1776), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Aug 28, 2008 Deep copper-amber in colour with a lingering off-white coloured head, good lacing. The aroma is sweet, floral, lots of citrus with a light sweetness and some yeast. The flavour is dry, apples, sweet, a fruit salad sort of mix, citrus, lightly tart. Sweet mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes very dry, tart with lots of apples.
This is excellent, not overly tart but rather smooth. A different kind of saison, even coming from Fantôme.
750ml bottle obtained in a trade with TheCheeseMan, thanks Dan.

Beershine (1440), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 22, 2008 Deep dark red-brown. Never loses its head as it sits. Blueberry pie. Flowers. Fruity crazy unique yeast. Like a breeze blowing through a field of orchid and hibiscus. Distinctive. WeeHeavySD (1839), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Aug 10, 2008 750 I feel honred to have had this a bottle from Chris of Ebenezer’s Personal Cellar. Pours dark amber red with a 2 finger tan head. Nose is sweet, really awesome. Taste is sweet and tart and nice, this was great. Oakes (6966), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jun 30, 2008 Reddish-brown colour. Cloudy. Liquoricey with crazy spice nose. Light pear notes, again very assertive liquorice/anise, nutmeg and spice. Probably a little too much, even for Fantome. Beerlando (1339), Orlando, Florida, USA Jun 22, 2008 Courtesy TheCheeseMan. The hazy, murky, dark auburn body is crowned by a foamy, cream colored head. Sudsy, spotty lacing marks the glass in typical Fantôme fashion. The aroma displays a lightly caramelized, slightly grainy malt base, with the signature minty yeast funk and notes of wildflowers. Flavors continue the theme, with a musty, spicy, minty yeast permeating the grainy background, with wild herbs and spices lending further complexity. Medium bodied and moderately carbonated, it finishes dry and lightly tart. Very good overall, but not the best effort from this great brewery.
