Bottle, from Lukes Liquors. Huh, sour nose, lemony, little tea nad honey. Seltzer. Hazy brownish orange color with floaties. Great lacing. Bitter flavor, like aromas, mainly lemon. Medium body, lite creamy smooth mouthfeel, sour bitter finish. This can’t be right. I hope this is old/ bad. Too bad I was psyched when I found this, oh well, Next!

Pour is orangey amber with huge slow fading off white head...smell is mildly piney with a hint of citrus...much more hoppy nose than taste...taste was thin and watery with some strange vinegar like flavor...

750 ml bottle shared by DarkElf - thanks! Pours nice hazy amber with a huge off-white head the leaves good laciing. Fruity malts with a sour leaning, like oranges starting to ferment, light floral hoppy notes evident as well. Lemon and grapefruit, sour predominates with some floral hoppiness as well. Light to medium bodya nd gentle carbonation. Good chance this beer had turned or began to turn at the time of this tasting, so my rating may not reflect accurately on the normal quality of this beer. However had this been a belgian sour as opposed to an APA, I would likely have rated it differently.

(750 ml bottle: Obtained in trade with IMtheOptimator, thanks Andrew!) With a strongly sour nose eminating from the glass, and then a moderately sour citrus flavor causing my face to wrinkle, we must have an infected bottle here. It’s not lemon juice, but still, the sourness dominates all aspects of the flavor and nose. I am tempted to not even rate this, but who knows if I’ll ever be able to find another bottle of this beer. But also, a possible solution has presented itself. I’m sampling this beer at SDbruboy’s house, and he has some Belgian cheese that is pretty rank, the way good cheese should be. We have found that by sampling the beer with some of this cheese in our mouths, the cheese is very effective at neutralizing the sourness of the beer. And so, a moderately sweet and fruity flavor and aroma emerges. Perhaps a glimpse into what this beer SHOULD taste like? The body and palate are hard to discern, given all the citric nature of this beer, but the body seems to be about average for a pale ale. The cloudy, dark apricot color is quite attractive, and though the light tan head is somewhat volcanic on the first pour, the head settles down to a full layer of sheen. Oh well, thanks for trying Andrew, infected bottles obviously do not reflective negatively on you. Hopefully I’ll get to try this beer again.

Pours out an ambery color with a finger’s length of a head. Smell is of citrus cleaner and car batteries. Taste is a bit nicer with strong hoppy floral elements present. Not bad overall.

750 ml bottle produced a huge gush when opened by MartinT, then produced little remarkable in the drinking area when shared with myself, Rastacouere, tiggmtl, and ClarkVV. Coppery translucence and a huge head is a promising start...thick, bitter/alcoholic aroma reminiscent of household solvents...watery, thin fruity body with raspberry-cherry notes.

Grapefruit, apricot, herbal hops in the aroma with a light underlying note of acetone. Hazy amber coloured body with generous cover of white head that recedes with some very nice lacing. Fair bitterness with grapefruit-like hop flavour. Acetone seems more pronounced in the flavour. Low carbonation and watery texture. Bottle sampled with ClarkVV, MartinT, muzzlehatch and Rastacouere.

The Lure:
Grapefruit and orange sorbets through which flocculate adamant yeast.

The Festivities:
Dry and bitter orange zest ruffles a weak and tired body. Floral chalkiness and watery dew attract a couple frowns.

Transcendence:
Summer sunshine would probably give it a better chance than this snowing permafrost.
