Commercial Description:
This craft-brewed porter is made in very small batches right here on Nantucket. It is unfiltered and bottle-conditioned to ensure the freshest possible taste. Our porter is made with a blend of roasted barley, black patent, and chocolate malt for a smooth, chocolatey finish that goes famously well with oysters. Serve slightly chilled.

Tap at RNH. Deep brown pour with a thin tan head. The nose is fairly sweet and quite fudgey. There is a nice sweet herbal character on the front of the palate. There is a little bit of soft herbal character. It’s nicely sweet with a little bit of soft earthy bitterness. Cocoa and a lingering chewy finish. Another pretty solid effort from these guys.

another gold star for cisco. a very deep near black brown colro with lots of bubbling and a full head that melts away after a minute. the smell was of course a little bitter chocolate but there was a real strong sweetness coming off of this as well and a small hint of alcohol. flavor was typical roasted barely but the texture of this is just perfect. great balance between thinner refreshing beers and thicker hardy beers. The kind of beer that makes porters the best.

On tap at rattle n hum. A very compliant dry, fruity, malty porter. Japanese sushi rice and sweet malts. Leaves a wet and sugary finish. Execellent lacing. This brewery is always right on.

Very rich, delicious beer. Had on tap at Rattle n Hum. Pours a pitch black hue with a frothy, beige head. Hose is all roasted malts with notes of coffee and chocolate. Flavor emphasizes the burnt malts, with coffee and chocolate notes again, dominating the palette. Smooth and creamy, the beer finishes cleanly and leaves a nice, roasty malt aftertaste. If you like this kind of beer, you will really enjoy this particular beer.

The look is black in color, opaque, and has a beige colored head. The smell is malts, coffee, roasty, and has some chocolate. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, and coffee. Ok but nothing special.

Bottle. Pours a crimson hued brown with a ridiculously large head and climbing bubbles in the bottle leading me to think right off that I’ve got an infected bottle. Smells a bit off, paper and old turnips. Flavor picks up a bit though, nice roast character. Finishes with more roast and a little astringency. Dumped the bulk of this… couldn’t get past the horrible aromas.

22 ounce bottle in pint glass. Black with lasting flat head. Roasty woody chocolate aroma. Roasted coffee chocolate and woody earthiness with subdued fruit and very dry roasted finish. Medium light body. Restrained on the chocolate. Nicely sessionable without being too low on the alcohol. Pretty good.
