Commercial Description:
This craft-brewed porter is made in very small batches right here on Nantucket. It is unfiltered and bottle-conditioned to ensure the freshest possible taste. Our porter is made with a blend of roasted barley, black patent, and chocolate malt for a smooth, chocolatey finish that goes famously well with oysters. Serve slightly chilled.

A pitch black beer with a huge chocolate brown head. The aroma is lovely sweet with notes of chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of chocolate, some burnt notes, and hints of coffee, leading up to a dry end. Wonderful.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown, almost black, with a foamy tan head and rings of lacing. Aroma is coffee and bakers chocolate. Palate is smooth, but a bit on the thin side. Dry too. Flavor is roasted malts, coffee and cocoa. A fairly typical porter.

Dark brown pour with an unending tan head. Had to pour, wait, pour wait to actually fill up the glass. I’ll even try to take some of the blame for that, but damn. Roasty malt with alcohol nose. Pretty dry, some mocha, roast malts, burnt tones. To me the carbonation gets in the way of potentially a nice beer. A bit of a bitter coffee finish. A "Belgian" style porter for lack of a better description. Don’t care for it, just like I don’t care for the Belgian style stouts.

bottle from alldaydrinker... pours a nice opaque black shade of brown dominated by a gigantic cafe au lait colored head (we’re talkin’ one part beer to five parts foamy head!). as it eventually fades it leaves behind a soapy film and lots of spotty lacing on the glass. the aroma is very floral... kinda like the way nail polish remover is floral?... so, not in a good way. there are some good qualities... ripe dark stone fruit, rich grain, mildly scalded cream and chocolate. the flavor is tasty but definitely flawed... a touch of sweetness on an otherwise dry palate, chocolate, toasted nuts, ashy grain, vanilla, coffee and tart cherries right before a very unpleasant sour finish. normally a good thing in a porter, this is just too much. floral, medicinal and almost provoking a gag reflex i let it sit for a good forty five minutes... the negative aspects have faded or perhaps i’ve just come to expect them but are still present... harsh. ashy burnt cream and chocolate flavored coffee in the aftertaste. light bodied, over carbonated and very acidic. it does have some good characters to it but they are well hidden beneath a blanket of meh...

deep black in appearance with offwhite head, the aroma is coffee and heavy in roasted barley. fruity and caramel flavor anchor the body, it has a very chocolatey finish.

Pours a deep brown with amber notes and a huge bubbly light tan head that left some sticky lacing. Aroma of tart cherries, roasted malt, chocolate, some coffee and an interesting sweet sourness. Flavor of chocolate, sour cherries, coffee and some funky sourness. I think this bottle is infected...but still nice. Sourness came across as a sour/tart cherry which complimented the chocholate/roast nicely.
