A grainy, adjunct-ridden cream ale that goes down a little harshly, like listening to a Ministry album or watching Madonna act. Oddly sweet, and the alcohol tastes like it's about 7%. Nasty stuff with a slight hop/herbal bite and some sourness. Consider yourself warned.

City Brewery's best overall brew, edging out the Pale Ale. With all of the capacity that City Brewery has, why is it that their 6 primary labels are nearly indistinguishable, bland lagers? (La Crosse Lager & Light, City Lager & Light, Kul & Kul Light). They really need some variety. Anyway, the Cream Ale's distinguishing characteristic is its relatively considerable hop bitterness, which is electrified by extreme carbonation. Doesn't score many points for aesthetics, and is not "creamy" at all. A little too dry; could use some sweetness to play off the bitterness.

Hops, malt aroma, golden, small white head. Some hops taste, slight bitterness afterwards. Light bodied, average.

How I miss Blatz Light Cream Ale, which was only made by this brewery when it was Heileman’s. I still miss it. Light golden color with a mild floral/malt aroma. Some corn flavors you might expect in a cream ale but these distract a bit in this one. Some light fruit flavors in the finish.

Light floral hop aroma. Decent malt character, does not come off as being adjuncty. Hop flavor comes and goes without leaving too distinct an impression. This beer definitley has ale characteristics, with an underlying fruitiness.

If you can find it on tap, drink it, otherwise, leave it on the shelf.

Non-destinct aroma with a good head. Nice golden appearance. Smooth flavor with not alot of character. Light malt and light on the hops. A little sweet (corn)? Middle of the road carbonation. Better then I expected anyway.

It’s average. Overall, I would have to say the beer is a little on the weak side. The aroma is lacking and the taste is too weak.
