Metallic-grassy nose, even a bit like sewage water - otherwise said, pretty unappetizing. Unpleasant, slightly lemony-sour and very metallic taste, plus a flavour as from decaying grass. light, watery, fizzy, but the aggressive flavour keeps coming. Ugh! Light herbal hops and grainy aroma {(very light)[very, very light]very, very, very light} . Light grape and malt flavors. Hints of bitterness. A touch to effervescent, but really not to bad. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 16, 2007 Bottle from Pat’s. Medium gold pour with minimal, frothy white head. Aroma is pale grainy malt, some honey, hops, and fruit. Light to medium palate with more flavor breadth than many lagers, giving notes of initial pale grainy malt and honey, with subdued apricotty fruit and hops at mid-palate. Not bad. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA

This was WAY better than I expected it to be for $4 a six-pack (NE beerophiles, can you imagine anything ’micro’ going for so cheap? I love Wisconsin). Tastes relatively fresh, clean, reasonable body; what else do you want in a cheap lager? Will vie with Sleeman for my favorite of the type. heemer77 (4312), Savannah, Missouri, USA

Bright gold body with a rather large head. The aroma is grainy corn and some grass with a hint of sweaty socks. The taste is light corn and some honey with a little bit of spice in the finish. Not bad if you don’t mind a slightly sweet lager. Skyview (4060), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA

Pours a clear golden pale blonde brew with a fast dissolving white head that leave behind a white ring and no lacing. Aroma of light bready malt, a touch of lemon citrus zest and even a hint of honey. Taste is light bodied, well carbonated, smooth with a bready malt and citrus hop flavor. Finish has a slight bitter taste at first and then crisp and clean cut. This definately reminds me of the original Heileman’s Old Style beer of the 1980s. Braudog (3770), Dayton, Ohio, USA
