Definately better than other comparably priced beers, but why even bother? Taste is of corn, metal, and tap water, body is light to just under moderate. BeerAteHer (384), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 3/20 | Feb 25, 2005 Malty industrial aroma. Cheap corn malt taste but much more palatable than a Welfare malt liquor. Aftertaste is rather tinny and harsh. Body is ok, lots of tiny-bubble carbonation despite the flat appearance. I’m afraid I have to zap this beer 3 extra points Overall for being so corn-sweet without a higher alcohol content to reciprocate. driver (3), Elkhart, Indiana, USA does not count | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 13, 2005 A local store had it on sale for forty seven cents a can, so I bought a sixer. Very easy on the wallet and easier on the body then a lot of other "budget" priced beers. This is just a good cheap beer that does its job commendably in the most inoffensive way possible. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Feb 3, 2005 This was a tipical cheap beer. Most of the time that you have premium on the label, they are trying to make it sound better than it is. Oh yeah, thanks for the free beer JMerritt. JMerritt (1322), Macomb, Illinois, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Jan 16, 2005 Saw a 6-pack of this so-called "premium" Brew City Lager in the liquor store, and I just had to have it. It’s premium, after all. It says so right on the can! Premium! Pours a solid yellow-gold with a medium-sized white head. Head is mostly diminishing. Sweet, grainy aroma has a definite corniness to it. Flavor has a certain sweetness to it that reminds me of when you wake up in the middle of the night with a dry mouth and get a big glass of water. You know how the water tastes kinda sweet, metallic and like glass? Bingo. Not a whole lot else going on here. Carbonation is light, and (surprisingly) this stuff isn’t "too" thin. Overall, though, it is still pretty bland. If you’ve had on of these macro pale lagers, you’ve had them all. beermatrix (1497), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 30, 2004 Clear very light golden yellow color with a thin dispersed white cap that slips away quickly leaving a thin collar and sparce spotty lacing. Aroma is clean and slightly sweet of wheat malt and cooked corn. Taste is clean and quick with a sweet malting and nadda much else. As it warms it get a bit more whole grain and corn flavors reaching through towards the finish as well as a very slight grassy hop return. Sweet and quick overall. Feel is quick and thin, slightly buttery, crispy, clean, but lacking a desent body; dead on average, actually, and yet, better then most other macro lager. This is a beer to drink a bunch of on a hot day if in the mood for simple, quick, clean, and sweet. Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Oct 3, 2004 Clear yellow color, under a stocky, sturdy white head. Aroma is fresh and clean, but evocative of nothing whatsoever. Slightly sweet. Exceptionally smooth mouthfeel, but virtually empty of body and texture. Some malt, zero hops. Perhaps that’s aim, but I can’t find any to recommend. I wouldn’t turn it down if I had no better choice, but I’d get bored really quick.
