Light feel, light finish, light hops, light malt. Nothing special. Thirst quenching maybe, but not much flavor to sink into.

Surprised by how strong a flavor this actually had, Not saying it is newcastle by any stretch of the imagination, but surprisingly drinkable

Got this one as part of a City Brewery Variety Pack ($8.99 for 12 bottles o' beer). While not an exceptional beer in any sense, it's nonetheless quite drinkable. Decent head when first poured into the glass. Clear light gold body. Fairly light-tasting overall but hoppier than I expected. Also fizzier. This is a good beer to have on hand for those folks who drop by and aren't into more "exotic" stuff...

Typical macro with little to make it special. Has a very light feel and finish. Little aftertaste.

Another one tested at the brewery. Used to love the G. Heileman products and was expecting good. Was disappointed by this one, although I never did like Special export

Straw color with a foamy white head. Grain and dextrose aromas. Very light malt flavor with hints of corn and mild hops. Dry finish with little left to show for itself.

This brew is essentially the old Special Export (same recipe), brewed by Heileman. City Lager and City Light are better than La Crosse Lager and La Crosse Light, respectively. The latter two are from the original recipes of Old Style and Old Style Light, respectively. Not too bad.

Corn aroma, light yellow, tiny white head. Musty malt taste, hint of a hop. Some creaminess, dry finish. Average.
