It’s a step up from industrial beer, but thats not saying much.

Got this one as part of a City Brewery Variety Pack ($8.99 for 12 bottles o' beer). While not an exceptional beer in any sense, it's nonetheless quite drinkable. Decent head when first poured into the glass. Clear light gold body. Fairly light-tasting overall but hoppier than I expected. Also fizzier. This is a good beer to have on hand for those folks who drop by and aren't into more "exotic" stuff...

Light amber color, small white head that had a decent hantime then faded to a small lace. The aroma was lightly malty with a decent hop presence and a nice floral and spice hint as well.Nice light flavor of malt and fruit most likely lemon, with a mild amount of hops coming through to give a very faint bitterness at the end.Nothing great but decent enough to be an everyday swiller. Thanks to GrainbeltGuzzler for this brew.

Clear very light golden yellow color with a thin dispersed white cap that slips away quickly leaving a thin collar and sparce spotty lacing. Aroma is clean and slightly sweet of wheat malt and cooked corn. Taste is clean and quick with a sweet malting and nadda much else. As it warms it get a bit more whole grain and corn flavors reaching through towards the finish as well as a very slight grassy hop return. Sweet and quick overall. Feel is quick and thin, slightly buttery, crispy, clean, but lacking a desent body; dead on average, actually, and yet, better then most other macro lager. This is a beer to drink a bunch of on a hot day if in the mood for simple, quick, clean, and sweet.

This brew is essentially the old Special Export (same recipe), brewed by Heileman. City Lager and City Light are better than La Crosse Lager and La Crosse Light, respectively. The latter two are from the original recipes of Old Style and Old Style Light, respectively. Not too bad.
