Good golden color, holds a head longer than most of its type. Flavor has a bite! Like real beer should! Bud Light, Miller Lite and the others can’t come close to this beer. It’s quite good for the type. Beerlover1982 (78), Lacrosse, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 24, 2004 Light straw color, small white head that faded quickly.Very well carbonated in the pour, with the aroma being light malt and a light lemony side, faint hops.Very nice flavor albeit lightly flavored but much better then some other lights i’ve had.Mild malt taste with a mild lemony appearance and mild hops with a slight, faint hop bitterness. This is a nice brew that i think i could drink almost daily. Thanks to GrainbeltGuzzler for sending this brew my way. greystreet80 (191), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Apr 21, 2002 This beer is just like a bud or busch light. It has a little more flavor though. It is even better out of the tap, but bottles are very decent. ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 8/20 | Jul 6, 2003 A little darker in color than the La Crosse Light and definitely better. City Light is made from the same recipe as the original Special Export Light. Not a bad value proposition considering the low price. When in La Crosse, I would definitely buy this before Bud Light. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/20 | Jun 13, 2004 This canned brew poured a large white head of fine to medium sized mostly lasting softly carbonated bubbles that left behind a poor lacing. The body was a softly carbonated transparent light orange color. The aroma was very mildly malty. The palate was mildly tingly at the start with a smooth malt hop finish. It has some flavor actually. Not bad for a light beer. I found it hard to add more to the description of the flavor. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jan 19, 2005 Updated: May 23, 2008In the can and called Brew City Light. A thin white head. Very pale and light color with a few bubbles. Aroma is metallic with green beans. The taste is a malty bit of corn. It also has some more sweetness than you would expect. On tap at the brewery, this was called Local Light and slightly better. It is the same as City Light, but with rice instead of corn. At least that was how the head brewer explained it to me.
