boto (1224), Granby, Connecticut, USA Nov 28, 2004 Draught: Served in a brandy snifter. The color appeared to be an opaque brown, but the light was a bit subdued in the bar. There was almost no hear at all. The aroma had hints of dark fruits and chocolate. It has a rich and silky taste, with some roastiness to go with the fruits and chocolate. Warming. It is very good! tiggmtl (4179), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Oct 16, 2004 Brown sugar, caramel, toffee aroma. Clear brown with decent tan head that recedes slowly. Malt oriented, notes of toffee and a lightly roasty finish. Medium body. On tap at the brewpub with DYCSoccer17, MartinT and Rastacouere. MartinT (4377), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Oct 15, 2004 Hospitable brown rum and sweet earthiness carry apple hors d’oeuvres and mineral water apéritifs...Hop bitterness surges then drowns into the prevalent sweetness...A healthy, thick body fails to redeem this attempt at a complex sipper, but, nonetheless, this was my favorite of City Steam’s on that cloudy, fall afternoon... Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 12, 2004 Coke colored. Honest light brown head. Pretty good malty aroma for this pub. Solid toffee flavour. It doesn’t smell very thick though.. Mostly caramel/toffee and an unnecessary lactic touch. Fairly mild for what it lets think it is. Mouthfeel is a bit stale with little to no carbonation. ChazyRPh (571), Chazy, New York, USA Sep 8, 2004 Deep garnet pour in appropriate galssware. Negligable tan head. Aroma of sweet malt and dark pit fruit. Also some spiciness. Very smooth and sweet, prune and raisin flavors. Minimal alcohol presence, a very nice offering.
