Poured amber with no head. Aroma of caramel. Lots of caramel malt with some fruit. Finished rather dry.

22oz bottle bonused to me from a long time ago.....pours a medium amber brown with a fluffy off-white head that quickly fades. ....aroma of caramel malt and dried fruit, somewhat biscuity and oxidized (not necessarily in a bad way)... initially sweet caramel flavors but quickly overcome by dryness and bitterness. sharp sour bitter bite in the finish. lively carbonation. ultimately, it doesn’t come together very well. 7/4/6/3/13

Bottle. Pours a dark ruby brown body with a light tan head. Aroma a big hoppy with some sweet malt, a little dark fruit. Flavor is sweet malty, a touch of plum. Some citrus hoppiness comes through as well and a nice warming in the finish. It doesnt come together to great but its alright. Happy i put a year on this i wouldn’t want to taste anymore hops in this.

NOTE TO RATEBEERIANS: When Jasonmech77 tells you that something is not very good- he is right. I still wanted to sample this beer because I like barleywines. Draft at Capones. Pours golden amber with an off white head. Aroma is nice, which has some fruity ale esters and muted citrus hops. It smelled more like an APA than a barleywine. The body is light and texture is thin for a barleywine. For flavor, this thing is a mess. Toasty malts, toffee, butter, and green apples. There is lots of residual sweetness and not much bitterness to pull everything together. Alcohol is hidden well for 10%, but I do not have any more positive things to say about this. Not good. Sorry Jason, I will listen to you next time

Draft. Rootbeer tannish brown color. 1"4" thickish foamy head. Light carbonated activity. Vanilla, malty, cherry-fruity overtones. Watery-thin entry dissolves into sweet cordial residual. Solid/OK

Pours the color of iced tea, an orange gold with a quickly disapating tan bubblie head.Aroma is citrus, a touch of clove.Taste is a little bitter, hoppy and fruity. Something diffrent for me to try. An ok brew.

Draft: Nice amber body w/ some coppery hues. Small white head w/ decent lacing coating the glass. Nice malty/hop aroma. Flavor mirrors the aroma w/ the hops just a bit more prominent, leaves a sweet syrupy coating behind. I usually cannot stand barley wines, but this wasn’t bad.

Draft @ Capones. Golden amber color with a hint of red. Aroma is a bit sugary with some light hops, apples, tropical fruit. Flavor was very appley and tropical fruity with some interesting sweetness and a strange alcohol aftertaste. A bit odd - not terrible, just seemed like something was a bit strange here. I never know what to make of Climax.
