On tap at Barcade. Pours a hazy brown with a thin white head. Caramel, chocolate, light vanilla, some nutty malts. Medium bodied, chocolate, vanilla. Finishes dry and with a light roasty bitterness.
jason (1620), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 20, 2008 Draft at Which Brew. Poured a dull brown body with thin head. Aroma is caramel, malt and faint. Flavor is nutty, sweet caramel and very bland. gripweed57 (19), Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA Sep 17, 2007 Half gallon growler. Transluscent medium brown color with a small beige head. Light cocoa malt nose. Sweet roasted malt flavor lacks depth. Easily drinkable, but lacks real body or character. Average at best. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 10/17/1998

hophead75 (1945), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Aug 19, 2007 Growler split two ways...Dark amber/brown in color. Aroma: pretty horrendous, with a very weird stale malt/off character. Taste is chcocolate and caramel, pretty well attenuated and dry. the same off character plays a role in the taste, but nowhere near to the level of the aroma. I don’t think I have had a truely good beer from this brewery yet. BREWMUSKCLES (1062), New Jersey, USA Jun 10, 2007 YOU GOTTA APPRECIATE THIS STYLE FROM THE BEGINNING. THIS IS A DECENT REPRESENTATION. HEY IT’S A DECENT NUT BROWN ALE. LITTLE HOPPY. BETTER THAN A LOT OF THE ENGLISH ONE’S I HAVE TASTED. SWEETNESS IS OVERSIMPLE. EEEHHH. taeagan (9), USA does not count May 2, 2007 Nice and chocolately, but not sweet at all. Definitely more a dark mild ale than a brown. One of the best you’ll find. freekyp (900), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA Apr 23, 2007 While certainly not flawered in any way, this brew did little to distinguish itself from the pack. Decidedly English character with a lightly earthy malt and hint of cocoa, this brew stays on an even keel from sip to swallow. I would liked a bit more sweetness and more assertive malt character. Very dry finish.
