Aroma was subtle, but good; caramel, bread and toasted malt. Flavor was much fo the same; a hint of sweetness. A little watery on the palate, but I thought it worked. Refreshing and pretty good. kramer (2510), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 13, 2007 Draft pint, ESPNZone Baltimore MD. Pours a clear light copper body under a small film of white head with some light foamy lacing. Aroma is pretty light, some toasted and crystal malts with just the slightest hint of Munich malt. A touch of hoppiness. A little thin in the flavor in the malt profile, but a pretty nice crisp hoppiness emerges in the finish making it at least thirst quenching. Mouthfeel is thin and watery with moderate fizzy carbonation. A little graininess on the finish. A below average Marzen, though the hoppiness on the finish made it an OK choice for a hot day. | 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 7/20 | Apr 21, 2007 12oz. Bottle: Sweet aroma. Smells of hops, berries, vanilla, creamsicle, and caramel. Poured amber in color with a small, off-white head that diminished very quickly. Hazy but clear enough to see through. Sparkling. Not really bitter or sweet. Flavor is malty and grainy. Tastes like wet mash. Pretty gross. Light body. Thin, watery texture. Average carbonation. Nasty, long, malt finish. A drain-pour. nearbeer (1871), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 19, 2007 Bottle from sampler 6 pack, best by June 07. Slightly hazy, orange amber with small head that sorta lasts, and leaves some soapy lace. Aroma is very faint - a little malt and dry lager yeast with a slight sour note. Taste is mostly mild and balanced. Some pretty nice sour fruit and citric notes throughout, become stronger the more I drink - maybe they aren’t supposed to be there? - but I likes it! Gives this lager some flavor. Slight drying finish leaves a tart, dry aftertaste. Palate is light, slightly astringent and dry on the end. ¾ (5006), Oregon, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 14, 2007 Really this is just a simple sweet brown ale/amber ale hybrid, although there is some faint marzen qualities such as some light wheat cracker and toast or crouton flavor, with a mild maple and butter sweetness. Palate is moderately silky, unassertive but pleasant. A simple beer. sneagrams3 (1759), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 4, 2007 Bottle. Sweet caramel and crystal malt nose, light sour tang. Deep golden and strongly carbonated body with a creamy little eggshell head. Nice smooth malty flavor, mostly caramel, lightly bittersweet. Thin-medium body with a malty after. Very faint fruit with some saisonish spice elements in the mid body (and influencing the finish). Nice little experiment.
