Pours a clear bright copper color with a nice creamy white head and some lacing. Aroma is somewhat sweet Munich malt, bread, and light fruits. Flavor is bready and caramelly Munich malt, sugar, fruity notes, and a little hop bite. Palate is medium-light and very crisp. Overall not a bad example of the style. The beer is a clear pale orange color with a medium thin and foamy off-white head that dissipates steadily. Spotty lacing on the glass. Mild malt and hops in the nose. Light body with flavors of pale malt, spices and hops. The finish is short with a toasted malt aftertaste. Average overall. jeff789 (422), Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 15, 2009 Very traditional, mildly sweet, malty malty.... clear amber... no head... Sweet, a bit heavy on the mouthfeel... This would be tough to drink in quantity... Slightly grassy hoppy, a bit dry in the finish.... Smooth lager up front a bit dry hoppy in the finish, nice beer, but a bit too heavy in the mouthfeel hopdog (5630), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 11, 2009 Bottle. Small fizzy off-white head with poor retention, transparent gold body, fair amount of lacing, and very fizzy, fast-rising carbonation. The aroma was caramel, fruity, crisp, and lightly hoppy. Ditto for the flavor along with some sweetness. Tingly mouthfeel and medium bodied. Easy to drink, but the taste was nothing to get very excited about. joeyplush (337), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 10, 2009 Copper color with a white medium head. Grainy, yeasty aroma, taste of sweet caramel malt, full bodied, close to the German festbiers. Lingering honey taste in the finish. Ceebs25 (242), Naperville, Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 3, 2009 12 oz bottle (thanks to Pam for the beer of the month club membership). The aroma isn’t all too enticing, but definitely fits into the marzen/vienna style, so maybe its just my personal preference. The notes are fairly light but very malty, with nutty cookie malt, hay grasses, light medium fruits, and a mild citrus. Not much head on the pour, light to medium opacity, and bright golden amber in color. Some classic marzen bite on the palate, but not overly strong, and fairly sugary feel. More balance in the flavor than aroma. Grassy and citrus hops with nutty caramel, cookie, and malted grains. Decent for the style, but I was not overly crazy about it.
