Aroma was sweet and slightly sour. Maybe some apple flavors as well. Taste is sweet and malty. Some earthy notes follow. Grain in the aftertaste. Overall very smooth, not much in the aftertaste. seanroto (8), Maryland, USA does not count | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 13, 2009 smooth lager. amber hue, slight sweetness, very easy to drink but wanted more taste, i agree with other review who described it as too simple jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA

Aroma is malty sweet with a light earthyness. Tastes malty, rye, earthy, and light florals. Retains a soft sweet malty feel overall. Rather pedestrian.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 27, 2009 Tap at Barcade: Hazy deep orange with an off white film of head. Nice fresh aroma- lightly sweet German malt depth- light toasted bready notes, caramel, sourdough, and mild raisin (not too sweet). Average palate- rounded carbonation. Nice balanced flavor- clean with a firm malt presence of toasted and mildly caramelized Munich/carapils notes and evident sourdough character from the malt giving it a nice quaffability. Simple, and not quite as clean as the better examples of Germany, but solid, especially for an American example of this style. OSLO (826), Perth, Australia
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 25, 2009 [Bottle] Pours reddish-amber with the tiniest of off-white heads. Aroma is fairly sweet, with apple, malt, notes of brown sugar, banana and something a little vegetal. Taste is also quite sweet, especially up front. It does become grain heavy after that, and finishes with an unappealing mineral taste. Fairly thin, smooth, average length finish. I don’t know, overall this beer just didn’t sit right with me. I guess it achieves its goal in that It is drinkable and smooth, but it is very simple, and I didn’t really enjoy it that much. ben4321 (1014), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Aroma: Limited nose, malty spice
Appearance: Clear orange color, little head
Flavor: Nice sweetness from the malts, nice spice
Palate: Mild, smooth
Overall Impression:
Not bad for what it is, you’ve got some malty spice, and basic Marzen characteristics other then that.
Plus, for anyone who knows lots of Baltimorons, the Baltimore jokes are pretty funny on the bottle, hon! pauljackson1 (25), Fairfax Station, Virginia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Mar 29, 2009 A very lightly hopped, slightly sweet, copper-colored, clean and refreshing example. I expected a little less attenuation, maybe a little more complexity, but not complaining - it leave room for seconds!(!) fly (1332), austin, Tejas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 15, 2009 Wish I hadn’t waited so long to drink this - not that it’s gone bad by any means, but I do wonder if the underplayed hops might have been slightly more "vibrant" or not. Good beer, easily drinkable, nice maltyness. I’ll take the BalOberfest over the TexObers that I’ve tried.
