A very lightly hopped, slightly sweet, copper-colored, clean and refreshing example. I expected a little less attenuation, maybe a little more complexity, but not complaining - it leave room for seconds!(!)

Wish I hadn’t waited so long to drink this - not that it’s gone bad by any means, but I do wonder if the underplayed hops might have been slightly more "vibrant" or not. Good beer, easily drinkable, nice maltyness. I’ll take the BalOberfest over the TexObers that I’ve tried.

Nice beer that is pleasantly fruity. I didn’t detect any octoberfest flavors in this one. I liked that. I hate octoberfests. Much more lively and fruity than the style would suggest. I’d drink it again.

Crystal orange coloured body with a super thin white head and no bubbles to speak of. Aroma of alcohol, malt, some curacao and a bit of spice. Medium-bodied; Medicinal flavour up front, fading to a malty mouthful with subtle spices and a tiny bit of sugar taste. Aftertaste mellows out after a while and leaves a bit of maltiness. Overall, a wierd marzen - not the typical oktoberfest beer, but some spice and malt still definitely noticeable. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased at Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. on 08-July-2005 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Pours clear amber with a thin white head. Weak aroma of hay and caramel. More hay and bread in the taste. Weak mouthfeel. Very standard.

Expires in January. Neutral aroma, little head on medium yellow. Mouthfeel above average, a little fruity in beginning and a tad smokey taste in the finish. Nothing special, quaffable. Average and reasonable for style, would not seek out again. Caramel, a tad of sweetness. Carbonation is suitable.
