Commercial Description:
A bronze medal winner at the Great American Beer Festival in 2000, this ale was the Official Beer of the Baltimore Bicentennial in 1997. Well rounded and complex, with a deep golden color, this is an American style ale with a distinct fruity pallet and floral, spicy hop aromas.

Deep golden-amber pour with a rich, long-lasting head. Lively carbonation and beading. Decent lacing. Light malt aroma and a hop nose. Taste: Nice balance of malt sweetness and a grapefruit hop bitterness. Just a little too timid.

Golden hue with initial good fizzy head and good lace. Aroma has notes of grassy and noble hops, toasted and bready malting, lemon and a hint of grapefruit. The taste starts with a nice mild bitter note and some citric overtones, almost english in style. The aftertaste is a bit bready and chalky, with some nice lingering bitterness. The feel is lively and fizzy, but seemed to have a bit more body than most golden ales. Overall, a quaffable and pleasant way to start the day. Thanks Rich for the brew.

This is from the beer of the month club and it is pretty nice. Pours a shiny gold color with a descent head. The pour is like Hay which is my last name get it? The aroma has some hops in it mixed with malts and citrus. A descent aroma but not a great one. The taste is like a baby IPA with some citrus hops and a pretty nice maltiness. On the whole this beer is not bad at all. I was pleasantly surprised.

clear, golden appearance, truth in advertising, there, with an able cap of bone-white foam. Aroma, spare, empty, faint traces of floral hops, utterly insubstantial. Taste: about the same as above. A trickle of taste enters the palate, a slight, buttery sweetness, and it vanishes quickly into the ether. Crisp hoppiness rides through as well...and exists just as fast. Not bad tasting, not in the least, just far too light for me...though I can bet they weren’t thinking of me when they put it together. Very clean, and a cinch to toss back without a quarrel, perfect substitute for the light beer drinker, but not recommended to those who seek flavor.

12 oz bottle: Small, thin, white head on a clear golden body. Perfumey hop w/ some grainy malt aromas; hints of spicyness w/ some muted citrusy hop. clean otherwise. Well balanced, grainy malt flavor, citrusy hop aftertaste. No bitterness whatsoever. Finish is sweet and has a clean, lightly fruity juicy fruit gum flaovr. Very smooth m/f, light body but not watery; medium carb. Very fresh, enjoyable, flavorful golden ale! Much more drinkable than your average macro.

Pours dark straw, with aroma of caramel malt, hops, and some honey. Tastes malty, with a solid citrus and hop finish, and smoothness all the way down. Very nice.

Dark gold color. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity, floral and sweet with a touch of grapefruit. A medium bodied blond/golden ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are grapefruity and floral but not very bitter. Has some flavor but is true to its gold/blonde ale roots. Nice session beer for a warm summer day. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Tap: Well they promised gold, and they delivered. It poured a beautiful gold color with a nice white head. Taste is kind of complex but very good. Not too hoppy or too malty.
