Commercial Description:
A bronze medal winner at the Great American Beer Festival in 2000, this ale was the Official Beer of the Baltimore Bicentennial in 1997. Well rounded and complex, with a deep golden color, this is an American style ale with a distinct fruity pallet and floral, spicy hop aromas.

From the beer of the month club. 12 oz. Bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a thin white head and thick soapy lacing. Nice grain and grass nose. The flavor has a sweet grain profile balanced by a smooth hop bitterness. Well made beer, but nothing sticks out about it either.

Bottle. A nice golden color. Slight aroma is pleasing -- smells of grain and slight fruitiness. Really a well done beer -- sort of a compromise between the typical super-bitter American pale ale and the macrobrews. Would not say it was sweet or malty per se -- just very restrained bitterness. Mouthfeel is great -- has a flat, liquid texture similar to the British bitters. Enjoyed it! Would buy again.

Pours clear golden color like the name suggests. Nice hoppy flavor, good finish.

12 oz. bottle from beer of the month club. Pours clear gold with just a skim of head present. Surprisingly left some lace behind. Light wheaty nose with some sweet malt. Crisp finish. Would be a nice beer on a hot summer day.

A bad aroma led to a bad aftertaste. I will offer help for those suffering from this golden ale.

A good, proud, Baltimore brew. Pours an amber-gold color, that is couldy with a small, white, foamy head that did not last long. The aroma was small caramel malts and some floral touches, with a grainy to piney hop character that had a slight kick. The taste was wet, mostly sour and some bitter flavors, with a wet and slightly oily moutfeel. It had medium carbonation levels and was somewhat fizzy.

As the name suggests this beer pours a nice golden color, a little bit like Budweiser with, but a bit darker. It actually has a pretty long lasting head for such a light beer. This beer has a light, sweet, hoppy smell. I can’t say the taste of this beer is anything special. It tastes like a run of the mill light ale or lager. Overall, this beer doesn’t have a ton to offer. I prefer a beer with a little bit more body and flovor.

Sparkling - dark golden to light orange with a quickly fading white head. Pleasant faint fruity aroma with hints of green grapes. Hint of citrus in the flavor with subtle bittersweet undertones. Also detect some nectarines and a minty finish. Mouthfeel is clean and crisp. Thanks to Aurelius for saving this out of his Ale-in-the-Mail shipment.
