Commercial Description:
A bronze medal winner at the Great American Beer Festival in 2000, this ale was the Official Beer of the Baltimore Bicentennial in 1997. Well rounded and complex, with a deep golden color, this is an American style ale with a distinct fruity pallet and floral, spicy hop aromas.

pours golden with a white head, sweet malt aroma with spices, spices, sweet, not bad, but nothing great, good body for a golden ale.

Well it says gold, people say gold and yup it is most definitely a beautiful golden color. Fairly standard offering and not too distinct in flavor, nose or palate. Hard to imagine it a big winner at the GABF. Fairly built and fine enough to throw a few back.

Bottle-I enjoyed this ale. Poured a golden color (of course) w/a small white head. Floral spicy aroma. Some sweetness up front w/a little bitterness in the finish. Definately preferred this over their pale ale. Much more refreshing.

A light tasting ale. Is that what they mean by an American style ale? It looked great, large, creamy white head over a golden body. Nice hop balance. Not much aftertaste. Goes down well, smooth, pleasant.

Definitely golden in color. Green grains and malts. Suprisingly rich in palate. Tastes are simple and beery. The mineral finish tastes somewhat artificial.

wow, who would have guessed this beer would pour a golden color. Fizzy head that falls quickly. Grainy malt aromas with a little grassy thing going on. Mild bready/grainy flavors. Green finish.

On tap in Baltimore. Not bad, but nothing exciting to me. I like more flavor, bitterness and punch in my beer. Easy drinking, but suffered in contrast to the Sam Adams Lager I had following. Too light and innoffensive- perhaps a good transition beer for macro drinkers.
