Nose-very sweet malts, fruits, and pumpkin. Taste-sawdust, seltzer, CO2, corn juice, light cherry, prickly carbonation, dirt. For 11% this thing sure is thin. How can it be so one dimensional and have 11%? I don’t even taste alcohol. Weird. Its not nasty, just...sad. Ungstrup (15430), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 7, 2006 Pours a translucent ruby red amber with a small bubbly off white head. Aroma of sweet sugary maltiness, light alcohol, caramel with a hint of rum. Flavor was a watered down malty sweetness with light alcohol, a light hop presence maybe some more of the rum? Not a very good barley wine. bu11zeye (5675), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 12, 2006 Bottle: Brown color, with a small light tan head. Aroma caramel malts, some weak hops trying to peak through. Flavor, lots of caramel, and other rich malts, some spicy hops that serve only to balance some of the sweetness. Alcohol is a little to prevailant in the finish, but that might fade with time. Pretty solid, but nothing special.
