Commercial Description:
Created to celebrate Clipper City’s 10th Anniversary – extremely limited and vintage dated – this extravagantly malty barley wine will show well upon release but continue to evolve for years.

Bottle. Medium almandine body with a 1/4 inch foamy head. Nose-very sweet malts, fruits, and pumpkin. Taste-sawdust, seltzer, CO2, corn juice, light cherry, prickly carbonation, dirt. For 11% this thing sure is thin. How can it be so one dimensional and have 11%? I don’t even taste alcohol. Weird. Its not nasty, just...sad.

An amber beer with a thich light brown head. The aroma is malty with slight notes of both hops and caramel. The flavor is very sweet and matly, but also with strong notes of caramel, leading to a dry woody and bitter end.

Pours a translucent ruby red amber with a small bubbly off white head. Aroma of sweet sugary maltiness, light alcohol, caramel with a hint of rum. Flavor was a watered down malty sweetness with light alcohol, a light hop presence maybe some more of the rum? Not a very good barley wine.

Bottle from Vintagecellar.Pours a amber color with zero head. Sweet and syrupy with some caramel fruity flavor. A bad example of the style.

Bottle: Brown color, with a small light tan head. Aroma caramel malts, some weak hops trying to peak through. Flavor, lots of caramel, and other rich malts, some spicy hops that serve only to balance some of the sweetness. Alcohol is a little to prevailant in the finish, but that might fade with time. Pretty solid, but nothing special.
