| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 9, 2009 it pours out pale golden yellow with a nice thick lumpy, frothy beige white head. the body is partially cloudy and has the color of light burgundy, amber, light brown. the aromas are straight up down to earth with a huge hop presence that commands respect. i also get some floral notes with pine sol, and pine trees. the flavors are sweet at first with a very complex bitter aftertaste. the mouth feel feels like silk, the carbonation is right on par, and i would probably say it is medium bodied. i taste sugar, clove, chives, onions, and toffee. very complex and nicely balanced and the alcohol content is superbly hidden very well. very enjoyable sutle aftertaste leaving me wanting more and finishes dry and clean. awsome brew, worth the money, will definatley seek this beer again for sure. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 31, 2009 Bomber. Pours hazy amber with a 2 finger thick beige head that leaves great lacing. The nose is toffee, floral hops and caramel. The taste is sweet citrus, caramel malt, brown sugar and some light tart grapefruit in the finish. Medium bodied. Decent. I think it’s a bit past its prime hops wise. Hangover (771), Atlanta, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 30, 2009 Clear copper pour with a long-lasting off-white head. Huge piney hop aroma. Pine/floral hop flavor. Very thick and resinous. A rater below said it’s like a highly hopped barleywine. That is dead on. A thick, malty, resinous hop bomb. sigma23 (236), , Maine, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 28, 2009 22oz bottle. Hazy copper color. White rocky head. Huge hop aroma. Lots of honey and citrus rind. Wonderfully earthy hop. Thick and sticky looking. Very heavy bodied. Full flavored, sticky. Flavor is a rich bold malt. Quickly followed by a sharp bitter hop. Lingering bitterness. A very good value, less than $5 a bottle! ABV is well hidden. Big and strong. Like an overly hopped BarleyWine. drfabulous (1274), Columbia, Missouri, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 22, 2009 Malty and somewhat perfume tasting DIPA. Someone said it is almost a barley wine, and I agree to the extent that it is heavier than most DIPAs (and no honey presence). But it is also like a light barley wine. Enjoyable. corby112 (768), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 18, 2009 Pours a dark burnt orange, dark amber/copper color with some dark golden orange hues when held to a light source and a one finger frothy white head. Good retention, only slowly fading into a lasting cap that coats the pint with lacing.
Earthy yet sweet aroma with lots of citrus and floral notes. Resinous hop oils with a good bit of citrus peel, grapefruit and slight pine presence. There is also some biscuit and caramel notes but the aroma here is mostly floral with citrus notes.
Chewy resinous medium body with a nice bitter hop blast up front that quickly turns into sweet citrus notes, followed by a pretty big malt backbone and a noticeably big alcohol presence. Slightly dry finish.
The hops up front provide a bitter earthy flavor with a nice bit of citrus notes, mostly lemon peel and grapefruit. This flavor is almost immediately killed off by a too big of a biscuit, caramel malt backbone that has some graham cracker notes, and a very hot alcohol presence. The 10.5% is not well masked at all. This beer is "balanced" but to a point were the hops are overpowered and are not very prominent in the overall taste. This beer looked and smelled okay but turned out to be a bit of a let down.
