Commercial Description:
This here bottle has a fine layer of yeast at the bottom. It won't send you to Davy Jones' locker, but will protect your brew from the rigors of life at sea! "Hang Ten" is the Heavy Seas wheat beer you've been waiting for. A classic German-style weizenbock, slightly cloudy and bursting with flavor. Hang on and surf the Heavy Seas wave!

Dark pour, dunkel-brown that lightens around the edges, creamy tan head. Foam lingers and fades out a bit, needs a little agitation to wake up. Nose is clovey with banana bubble gum and raisiny sugar. Fruity entry continues with the bouquet and coats the palate in a sweet alcoholic manner. The wheat malt and abv. are balanced with each other. However, the dirth of bubbles does not keep this lite on it’s feet. In fact it moves from velvety to heavy. All in all a nice execution of the style, certainly not a classic, but tasty and after the second one you forget a little about style.

The Dan Journal #108. 120z bottle. Tasted 9/25/07. Hazy with a brown bronze hue. Spiraling white head. Perfumy yeasty nose. Slight toasty fruity berry undertones. Nice nose. Medium bodied and sweet. Nice tart fruit flavor. Citrus zest and cinnamon spice. Apple cider acidity. Good dunkle.

Ten percent ABV is a stumbling block to taste... we shall "sea"...pours a thick brown, unfiltered with a short head in a weizenbock glass...chips of sediment apparent in the lower glass...a bit of carbonation with consistent lacing....malt and bready yeast aromas--more bock than weizen...when chewed, burrows into the lower back of the tongue--a bit of alcoholic burn too, aggressive at the top of tongue...a nice mixture of heavy malt sweetness and yeast...provides a punch and a thirst-quenching cool at the same time...the alcohol may be a slight turn-off..okay, it is...the beer challenges a neophyte beer rater--the style itself is unique...I find this batch of C.C. brew reviews in general to hit on the theme of malt and alcohol...another beer I would drink again, if not recommend for a discussion starter

Dark red pour with some fluffy head but no lacing. Strong aroma of banana. Flavor is complex and rich, very sweet with little hoppiness noticeable. The high alcohol is well hidden. Very thick and sticky on the palate.

Good tasting wheat beer. The aroma and taste of different fruits makes this beer a great experience.

Dirty crimson pour with a sticky cap. The nose is really wheaty with additional notes of apple cider, cherries, caramel and flowery hops. Heavy and full bodied with adequate carbonation. Lots more wheat here, with malty notes of brown sugar, toffe and dough. The yeast seems lacking though. Sugary sweet finish. Ultimately, this lacks complexity.

This did nothing for me, Standard at best. Not my cup of tea IMHO.

Poured amber with small off white head. Aroma of fruit and sweet malt. Solid sweet malt flavor with some fruit hints in the finish.
