Big aroma to say the least, with a load of spicy clove and banana. Caramel sweet flavor with loads of clove, a bit of bubblegum, and a big banana finish. A bit of bitterness lingers on the tongue in the end, quite clove accented. Although the cloves and bananas aren’t always my favorite flavors, somehow it all seemed to come together and work really nicely in this beer, which far exceeded my expectations. Thanks to Secret Santa crizay for this one! LinusStick (1852), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Do I rate this as I like it or compared to other weizen bocks. I chose the latter. This is a HUGE one. Aroma of banana, fruit and heavy malt. Pour was a deep ruby with an off white ring for a head. Taste was BIG BIG BIG. Big malt with some banana and caramel. Very very sweet. Almost too sweet. Big alcohol burn. For the style it is incredible. For me, too sweet. b33r (363), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

Flavor is intense, malty with some alcohol pinch, sweet and spicy. Dickinsonbeer (3499), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 13, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours a deep dark ruby amber, hazy and a tight beige head, but fades a bit. Aroma is tons of fruit and banana, with some slight clove and vanilla- very sweet as well. Caramel and toffee with the yeast, banana, and some clove with some hints of plasticy phenolics. Full mouthfeel and sticky sweet. Finally a bottle conditioned beer from Clipper city. This might even age a bit and mellow out some of the phenols and high octane burn you get in the end. Pretty good, but I think it was over-rated and over-hyped when it first came out. ChainGangGuy (2613), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 13, 2007 Updated: Jan 31, 2009Appearance: Pours a murky, medium brown body with a fizzy, off-white head.
Smell: Aroma of brown sugar encrusted wheat that’s simply jam-packed with ripe bananas and spice.
Taste: Sweet flavor of brown sugar and wheat. Fruity, with notes of banana as well as raisins. Touch of yeast across the palate. Earth spiciness of either cinnamon or nutmeg. Finishes fruity with a smack of alcohol.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Syrupy mouthfeel.
Drinkability: So far, I’ve found the majority of the Heavy Seas beers to be slightly deterring and somewhat off, stylistically. springbeer (1), USA does not count | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 12, 2007 Tried this in the bottle. It is just not for me. Really heavy camel flavor to the point of burnt sugar. Not sure what they where trying to achieve here. I was hoping that I got a bad bottle. The next was the same. jgb9348 (2515), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Sep 11, 2007 Hazy ’iced tea’ coloured body with a nice reddish brown hue and a lighter amber colour at the bottom. A very thin off-white head tops the beer and faint tiny bubbles rise from the side of the glass all the time. Nice aroma of bananas, wheat, yeast, coriander seed, cloves and a bit of honey. Full-bodied; Super strong malty flavour with wheat, pit fruits, bananas and some yeast noticeable. Aftertaste shows more of the same - a very strong malty flavour with good yeast throughout. Overall, a good weizenbock - not amazing, but definitely good to try. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from very nice owner Kevin of Grape & Gourmet in Virginia Beach, Virginia on 11 September 2007. Ughsmash (4077), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 10, 2007 Bottled. Poured a deep, almost clear plummy caramel with not much white head sticking around. The aroma had a cool sweet/sour blend of wheat and banana notes.. chocolate and almost sweet Cascadey hop presence came toward the middle.. intriguing and very good! The flavor was of sweet chocolate covered bananas at the core with pine and citrus bitterness all around.. tangy wheat, chocolate, and banana through the long finish.. tasty! Medium-bodied with good flow to it.. thought the sweet/sour contrast was well-executed!
