Bottle. Pours a dark copper-red body with a small ring of head. Smells of smokey malts, banana, some other fruits, and followed by bread. Tastes a bit metallic with yeasty caramel notes. Fairly sweet and fruity. A bit average and straight-cut for the style.

Bottle shared by Jason. The beer pours to a reddish amber body with a very thin ring white head. The aroma is dark wheat, bananas, cloves, breads. The flavor is sweet banana bread, zucchini bread, dark wheat, walnuts. Sweet wheaty palate and the alcohol is nicely hidden.

Got the Heavy Seas mixed twelve pack primarily for this, but considering the other beers that came with it are mighty fine I didn’t mind. Quite impressed by this powerful Weizenbock. Good looking color, kind of a deep reddish brown. Quarter inch bright light tan head and splotchy lacing, the minimal head and lacing is odd for a wheat beer but understandable for such a high alcohol brew. Dry wheaty malt nose, nice banana and sugary spices. Scents of black licorice and caramel accompany a really strong and great aroma. Thick body and the alcohol is easily noticed. A bit harsh but still very drinkable at a moderate pace. Sweet flavor with a healthy dose of banana and mild clove. Wheat based malt with light brown sugar and bready sweet rolls. Light offsetting bitterness, hops don’t seem to play much of a roll here as well they shouldn’t. Complex and rather tasty, two bottles had me grooving.

Pour is a earl gray tea lookalike with almost no head at all. Aroma is some banana and dark fruit with maybe some rye and deffinatly brown sugar. Flavor is again dark fruit with brown surgar but also some wood smoke. Alcohol is there but not in the way of eveything else. Pretty true to the style and a deffinate sipper.

Bottle. Pours a hazy deep ruby-brown with an average size quickly diminishing beige head. Aroma’s sweet and yeasty with lots of dark fruit, some toasted malt, light hops, banana and chocolate -- there’s lots going on there. Flavour, in no particular order: There’s chocolate, banana, quite a lot of alcohol, toasted malt, dark fruit, brown sugar, some hops and finally, an alcoholic burn in the finish. Medium bodied, syrupy mouthfeel. This is a little too boozy, 10% seems excessive for the style in my opinion -- it’s still pretty good but it’s definitely a sipper.

12 oz bottle courtesy of beachbum25. Pours a light caramel color with a 1/2" white head. Aroma was of fresh baked wheat bread with some banana undertones. Mouthfeel was moderate. Flavors were again of wheat bread, spices, malts, brown sugar with some orange peel. No hoppy flavor at all.

20070903 12oz bottle. I went through a 4-pk of this beer just waiting for it to live up to the hype....hell, just live up to the style. Never happened. Clear, dark caramel color with small but lasting beige head. Aroma is banana, cookie dough, mild cocoa, and rich cream. Smells inviting. Medium bodied with a coating palate of unctuous malt sugars and feeling heavier behind a dose of syrupy, bready, old fruits. I’ve yet to make it through a whole glass of this stuff. Frankly, it’s boring.
