Deep amber-brown pour has a fair amount of foam atop and a robust yeast nose of banana and dark, sticky fruit. Palate is heavy and smooth with minimal carbonation. Flavor is very much in keeping with weizenbock traditions of wheat/yeast characteristics up front of some spiciness and banana that is rounded out by darker malty flavors of chocolate, raisin, and syrupy goodness. This is one of the best American weizenbocks I’ve had, and a solid effort from a brewer that I previously thought only excelled with hops.

pours dark brown, somewhat transparent. hot cereal with molassis type aroma. nice head and lacing. sweet wheat with a nice alcohol bite on the finish. Best american replica of aventinus i’ve had, complete with the yeasty flavor gibbers!

Medium clear brown color - aroma is yeasty, sweet, chocolatey and roasty. Flavor is sweet, with a wheaty bite and a clean finish. Some notes of raisins, roasted malts and a hint of toffee. Slight alcohol bite at the end. Pretty good stuff.

Bottle (12oz). Slightly hazy deep refractive ruby-amber, smallish fizzy beige head. Sweet toasted cereal grain aroma, a bit woody with dry floral hops and a light undertone of cocoa. Taste has quite a bit of alcohol, it masks most of the grain and hops - too much, really, but I let it sit for a while and a decent caramel and light tart fruit and floral hopped beer emerged. Syrupy body, boozy and somewhat lively mouthfeel. A little too "big" but fairly decent.

Pours a fairly clear chestnut body with a decent beige head. Little lacing. It has an aroma of rapidly aging bananas and some light brown spices. Medium-to-light bodied and smooth in the mouth, it’s difficult to believe that it has such a strong ABV. Nice flavor of soft caramel, wheat, old bananas, clove, and a splash of mineral water. Satisfying and warming.

When I went to Beers of the World to grab a collection of wheat beers before the summer ended, I did not notice the lightly printed words sideways that said: Weizen Dopplebock. So I was alittle suprised at 1st when my wheat beer poured out brown. I was also suprised that almost no head was forming on my beer. Aroma is spices , mostly nutmeg with yeast and wheat. Flavor of nuts,malt,wheat with some alcohol at the finish. The alcohol make me forget the aches and pains of the 5k I just ran in 22:22.

Distinct aroma and taste of bananas. A filling and malty brew with a bread-like feel.

Hazy auburn body with a small beige head. The aroma is vinous, toffee and berry. The flavor is lightly sweet, toffee, raisins, light black cherry and herbal. Medium body is soft and chewy with light carbonation and a lightly warm and just a touch astringent finish. Nice.
