Bottle: The aroma consists of banana, roast, faint chocolate, and raisins. It pours a dark orangish-brown with a small off-white head. It’s suprisingly transparent. The flavor starts with lots of caramel and banana with some faint chocolate in the background. The finish has some raisin with some tangy wheat notes, faint alcohol, and light acidity. It’s medium bodied with a somewhat lively carbonation, but not prickly.

12 oz bottle via secret santa july 07 (thanks!). Pours a hazy reddish brown with an average beige head. Nose is spicy, fruity, coriander, and bananna. Taste starts sour tangy, prickly, the some stawberries, nuts, apricots, lemon and some herbal hoppiness. There is a lot going on here, but it is all subtle and nothing overpowers or stands out. Body is light/medium, carbonation is high..a bit too high masking many of the flavors. Abv is well hidden for a 10% beer, could have been 6% as far as that goes, nicely dangeroulsy hidden.

12 oz. bottle from a Heavy Seas Mixed 12 pack. Bottle marked best before Feb 08. Pours a light brown with a cream/tan colored head. Aroma is all the usual hefeweizen notes. Taste is gonzo. It is sweet with caramel, nicely mixed with a touch of wheat. Alcohol is well hidden. This is a hidden gem.

12oz bottle, best by March 2008. Pours deep copper color with a thick tan head that does not diminish. Clove, Banana, wheat and caramel are the primary aromas. Sweet and wheaty taste, with fairly strong clove and banana. Nice interpretation of the style.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark chestnut color with a medium sized dark tan head. The aroma was sweet and very malty with notes of molasses and light fruits. The flavor was sweet ripe fruits, caramel, molasses and a light wheaty undertone. The finish was longishly sweet and malty.

(12oz bottle, best by Feb 08) Small tan head that almost wholly vanishes, atop clear copper body. Aroma is moderately sweet, clove, some bubblegum, light wheat, banana. Taste is sweet, caramel, banana, some clove, alcohol, light cherry medicinal. Smooth medium-full body.

12oz bottle courtesy of notalush, muchos gracious. Poured into a tulip glass. Pours with a small head that quickly turns into a small halo lacing . Color is orange-ish hue of brown and dark enough so one cannot see through it. Aroma is oh-we strong with piney and super spicy/peppery wheat. Beneath that is some tangerine-like esters, too green and not anything close to banana yet. Not surprising, Heavy Seas making a traditional style beer that’s way over the top and a bit off-putting. Taste is not as over-the-top, definitely extra spicy wheat with a bit of meat flavor, and finish with a light pine. Long over-spicy aftertaste. No bitterness. A medium body with average carbonation.

12oz bottle, 4 pk. Dark brown and murky. Rich, creamy, tan head. Aroma of rich roasted malt, wheat, oats, and honey. Initial flavor has a sight tartness in it. Rich, heavy malt body. Very sticky and chewy. JUST THE WAY I LIKE IT! Bold roasted malts, hints of licorice. A heavy beer not for the faint of heart.
