Cloudy copper orange color with not much of a head. Smoky apricot aroma, a bit of alcohol, some wheaty phenols - a nice aroma. Thickish palate, but not overdone. Slight sweet taste, some caramel and spice. Well balanced, yet needs something more flavor-wise, maybe a spicier kick. Overall, a nice offering from Clipper City.

Bottle, thanks Blankboy! Very nice dark brown hazy appearance with a wisp of white bubbles - looks lovely. Great aroma - burnt sugar, wheat, yeast, caramelized banana. Taste - sweet up front, yeast, giving way to alcohol burn, brown sugar, and lingering banana bitterness. Soft mouthfeel and tons of carbonation. This one really burns, but it is also packed with flavour. Very interesting and enjoyable.

Darker brown with a smaller white head. Aroma is sweet with roasted wheat, sugar, banana, and maple syrup. Flavor is thick with heavier wheat and banana, a bit of bread, and some sugary syrup thrown in. Not bad, just a fairly average Weizenbock. 10%ABV not too noticable, but doesn’t make it any better.

Bottle. Body is brown with just a touch of red to it. The head is pretty small and aromas are fairly dull. Brown sugar sweetness and a little bit of a dark wheat aroma. Flavor is really rough around the edges. It has a very thick and syrupy mouthfeel that makes the blast of sweetness that hits you up front seem even sweeter. Has the banana/clove thing going in the background a little bit along with brown sugar and an alcoholic warmth.

cloudy brown with a small creamy tan head. spicy, banana aroma with a little alcohol. full bodied creamy palate. flavor is full of banana with some chocolate and spices, and a nice lightly tart finish. a real good one and possibly my favorite so far from clipper city.

The aroma is what you want from the style. It’s got wheat, bubble gum, bananas, and brown sugar. The appearance is deep amber with a nice head. The flavor is like the aroma with some sourness and is quite bitter. The palate is good for the style. Overall a nice but not fantastic beer.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a dimpled mug. This weizen bock poured a cloudy brown color with a tiny layer of tan bubbles that quickly disappeared. No lace. The aroma of this brew consisted of banana, dark fruit, and bready yeast. The flavor was yeast, wheat, banana, and some well hidden but warming alcohol. The mouthfeel was medium to full-bodied with a good dose of carbonation. This was a nice weizen bock with a good alcoholic kick.

Bottle. Murky brown with tan head. Lots of deep malty aromas-- dark fruit, sour fruit, rotten apple cider, vinegar, brown sugar, and some bubblegum in the background. Flavor is fully sweet dark malt, but with enough sour/sharp notes to keep it on an even keel, and though there isn’t much of an overt yeast presence, I think the yeast definitely helps keep this from devolving into a sugarbomb. Full and creamy on the palate. Nice sweet and sour aftertaste, with a faint yeast bite in the finish. The 10% is well masked, though it’s obviously a big beer. I gotta say I like this as a summer beer-- it’s hot and sticky outside, might as well down a hot and sticky beer, forget yer troubles and woes... Great stuff, I’m really enjoying the Heavy Seas series.
