| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 11, 2007 Bottle - Poured a deep reddish, cherry-wood brown with only the slightest of heads. Ther aroma is almost tart, fruity, dang near vinegary, but still inviting. The flavor is the real draw to this brew ... full and tingly, dark fruit, grapes, yeast, mild spices, brown sugar. This has all the complexity of the finest beers in this vein. (#3055, 8/11/2007) goldtwins (4080), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 10, 2007 Thanks to Notalush for the bottle. Poured a very hazed brown with a small and quickly diminishing head. It looks thick with some legs on the glass. The aroma is sweet and fruity with strong notes of raisins and apples with yeasty esters and spices. The spices increases and the beer warms. Mild alcohol as well. The flavor was sweet and fruity to start with banana the dominant fruit. Spicy finish with a mild bitterness and a touch of browned apple flesh. Medium to full bodied to start with it lightening up as it finished. hopson (595), Williamsville, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 10, 2007 draft, pizza plant- not well constructed, aroma of sweet sugar and lemon, Tastes of wheat, some spices, and alcohol. Not a fan. I like some of the Heavy Seas stuff, but more alcohol Z(which this line prides itself on) does not mean a better product. carl4beer (400), Fairfax Station, Virginia, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 8, 2007 12oz bottle. Aroma: Sweet maltiness with notes of toasted nuts, caramel, clove, and bananas. Alcohol is pretty noticeable. Some raisiny and cherry notes. Appearance: Dark amber in color and clear. Off-white head was full and foamy with good retention. Fair lacing. Flavor: Sweet maltiness with notes of toasted nuts, molasses, cloves, banana, and yeast. Alcohol is a little hot. Comes across a litlle rum/brandy-like. Palate: Medium bodied. Medium-high carbonation. Strong alcohol warming in back of mouth. Overall: Good, but not great. Too much alcohol, and the flavors don’t really meld. Still, the best beer from Clipper City to date. apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 5, 2007 Dark reddish brown, murky and no head. The aroma is pretty mildly malty with a hint of the strong ABV this beer has. It also has some banana phenols I’m not too fond of that also carry over into the flavor. Lots of raisins and plums. Pretty strong. notalush (2663), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 5, 2007 Cloudy dark brown with a red hue and small lace - somewhat smokey aroma, with notes of clove, ginger, dried fruit - fairly sweet, but balanced by strong clove and cinnamon spice - notes of rum and bourbon are amplified by the strong alcohol warmth - moderate wheat malt earthiness and a hint of tart character barely make themselves known - probably the best offering I’ve had from these guys.
