Something must have been wrong with my bottle. Not good at all. Sour flavors throughout. Sweet aroma. Prune and banana taste, but with some acidity that was not pleasant. Light bodied for the strength.

Poured amber with white head. Aroma of fruit and sweet malt. Solid sweet malt flavor with some fruit hints in the finish. Not again.

Bottle pours a near clear mahogany brown with chestnut highlights and thin off-white head. Nose is pleasantly sweet with dark fruits and faint hints of alcohol and a little wheat. Flavor of plums, raisin, old banana, Alcohol heat is evident in the warming but fairly well hidden from flavor. Medium creamy body with semi-bitter wheaty finish. Pretty damn good.

On tap at Barcade. Pour is ruby. Aroma has belgian yeast, malt, some alcohol, dark fruit, banana, and clove. Very sweet with dark fruit up front. There is some nice banana, clove, candy sugar, and spiciness as well. Overall, an interesting and fairly unique tasting beer.

Tap at Barcade: Amber pour with a tan head that fades to a ring. Thick chewy aroma- quite smoky, nice! Dark caramel, some raisin, only a mild clove note underneath all the malt richness. Substantial body- warming. Smoky flavor- almost like an Imperial smoked doppelbock with some mild German ale yeast phenolics. Rich dark caramel, toasted toffee and apparent smoky character which makes it very drinkable. Very mild clove phenolics for the style. I’m not sure where that smoky charcter is coming from (rauch malt?, peat?, phenolics meshing with the malts?) Either way, this stuff was a unique and tasty beer when I had it.

Enjoyed via 12oz bottle. Pours a nice light brown with a slight to medium slightly off-white head. Notes of banana, just a bit of clove, malt, and alcohol come across in the nose. On the palate, the imbiber gets notes of malt sweetness, more banana, but no alcohol, which is impressive, given the abv. Finish is on the sweet side of the spectrum, but appropriate and not so much that it can’t be a refreshing summer cooler. Overall, an above average of a "tough to nail" style.

i mistakenly thought this was just a regular wheat beer and didnt realize it was a bock till i got home. no biggie though; was still pretty good. pours brick red with a thin head that disappears quickly. aroma is very yeasty, more than i expected, but had a bit of a chemical funk as well though. taste is rather malty with some doughiness, and a bit of dark fruits like figs, dates and raisins. finish was more bitter than i was expecting, but was still pretty good all the same. a nice change.
