| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 28, 2009 bottle - Pours dark amber with a one finger off white head. The aroma is of sweet malt with some dark fruit and wheat. It tastes very sweet and a little fruity. The alcohol is really hidden under all that malt. I think there’s a little spice there too, but while good it’s so sweet that I thought subtleties were overwhelmed. bubbleflubber (893), Collinsville, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 21, 2009 Pours an amber-mahogany into the glass, with a diminishing tan head that leaves sparse lace. The nose has lots of yeast, leading to a musty melon banana contingency. The flavors are similar, of unripened bananas, sweet malt, aerated sugars, slight cloves and just a pinch of Allspice. The mouthfeel is a bit contradictory... round and mellow, yet refreshing for the style... nothing heavy-handed. On the whole, a decent Weizen Bock, but the integration and complexities of the brew keep this out of the "top-tier" shelving. wxman (587), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA

Some cinnamon and toffee notes are also present, along with plenty of ABV warmth. smith4498 (897), Miami, Florida, USA

Aroma of sweetness, clove, and banana. Taste of the same with the banana, clove, and some alcohol being prominent. This medium bodied brew is a nice tasting weizen bock. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 26, 2009 Hang Ten is cleanly brewed but much simpler than Aventinus, which it tries to emulate. Its aroma is sweet and clovey, but no other flavors emerge. The extra alcohol is readily apparent, but doesn’t add to the experience. I can’t seriously recommend Aventinus fans like myself to switch loyalties. Rciesla (3656), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
