hazy dark amber, fine beige head, bits of drippy lace, light chocolate aroma with a hint of fruity sweetness, rich chocolate flavor followed by a barage of esters and fusel alcohols, the sweet banana esters and rich chocolate manage to fight back to offer some good flavor, big astrengent bitterness kicks in to balance but just adds to this train wreck of a beer, close to being a great beer but held back by a couple of serious flaws

Reddish-amber. Light head. Some burnt phenols, dark cherry and light chocolate on the nose. Chewy, with some bubblegum and burnt dark fruits but the package lacks cohesion. Plasticy phenols detract from everything. Sweet, cloying finish.

Muddy brown color with green hue. Light aroma. Good malt and caramel flavor, with light chestnuts, light tannins; the alcohol is quite evident. Low bitterness. I like Barley Wines, but this one is not impressive.

Cloudy dark amber color. It’s a liquor version of a Weizenbock, sweet, thick, very good.

12oz bottle marked BB March 08. Poured a medium brownish color with a larger sized off white head. Aromas of cloves/spices, trace of bananas, and ’sweaty’ wheat. Tastes of the same clove/spiciness, bananas (more than the aromas), wheat, and some chocolate. Light alcohol in the finish but overall well hidden.

12 oz bottle-pours a foamy dissipating tan head and deep amber color. Aroma is medium/dark malt-caramel, banana/clove, spicy hops, which doesn’t quite balance, medium fruit. Taste is wheat/medium/dark malt-caramel, spicy/wood hops, medium fruit-cherry, alcohol, some yeast. Better at cellar temperature vs cold. Ok carbonation.

Bottle... Post O-Town Throwdown Part Deux... Murky, Longhorn orange ale with a mid-sized, creamy, off-white head. Excellent retention. The aroma is spicy with a blend of caramel and chocolate alongside lesser notes of banana, clove and ginger. The flavor leans on the bitter side of balance. It’s lightly sweet and lightly acidic up front; followed by medium bitterness. Observations of chocolate and minerally, hop bitterness. Medium-bodied with an abrasive mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Minerally, bitter finish. Thanks to Ibrew2or3 for leaving the bottles behind!
