| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 31, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark red with an off white head. Aroma of ripe fruit. notes of plum, raisin, berry, and caramel. Light note of alcohol. Medium/full body. Flavor starts very subdued, but quickly reveals a note of lightly sweet but mostly tart fruit, and becomes almost bitter at the end from the hops. Notes of fruit and yeast with a light note of alcohol. Quite enjoyable and easy to drink. Hance07 (192), DownSouth, Georgia, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Mar 30, 2008 Pours amber with small tan head. Aroma is fruit and clove. Flavor is terrible. Tastes like vinegar almost. Maybe I had a bad bottle or something but it was bad enough to make me not want to try it again. Pastor (509), Maine, USA

Aromas of malts, dark fruits and some alcohol fill your nose
The alcohol flavor is a bit strong almost masks the fruitiness of this one
Medium mouthfeel great sipper, light carbonation smooth is a word that comes to mind
Not a bad Belgian strong it’s a bit warm they could have turned down the alcohol some

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 30, 2008 Deep and dark in color...some sweet flavors but a bit more watery than I like. I still like having a dark abbey ale as opposed to the lighter varieties. Alcohol well-hidden. princesslala (37), North Carolina, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 29, 2008 It pours a medium brown. The head is a creamy white. It smells like an apple pie. There is barely any carbonation, and the liquid is of a medium consistency. I taste dark fruits and malts at the beginning of the sip and then there is a warm, alcohol finish. This particular beer is good for a nice chilly day. It would go nicely with a vegetable soup. The taste is not distinctive or impressive enough to warrant a rave review, but I’d definitely drink it again. ľ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 25, 2008 Filtered cedar orange colored body, which is really a crying shame to have a Belgian style like this filtered. Nose is one part sweet apple and honey malt and one part brown sugar, black pepper and toasted bread yeast. Rich, oily, moderately thick, sweet up front, more grainy over the middle, taste of baked apples, sour grains, a bit of moldy honey, and only a very light bit of some sort of trappist-style yeast. Easy to drink, but nothing to get excited about. AskForJenny (655), Ontario, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 24, 2008 Nice Trappist take off. Very little foam, bright copper color. A little out of balance, too sweet and then too boozy, than the real Belgians. Nice beer still.
