Aroma shows some dried fruits and some sickly sour bile like scent in the background. Fruity maltiness in the flavor but dry all around. Not really my favorite on any level. gunhaver (1043), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 2, 2008 Updated: Jun 4, 2008Bottle. Pours a semi-transparent dark brownish ruby. A creamy tan carbonated head dissipates shortly. Lacing is prominent, but not outrageous. It’s gone soon enough. Aroma is great, but I have to strain to get everything. Muted. Candied plums, molasses, bright green apples, brown sugar. Flavor is in the same boat (pardon the pun). Raisin, plums, molasses, plastic, cranberries....but it’s all seemingly being disguised or hidden from me. Velvety smooth, sprinkling watery finish. It’s an enjoyable beer, but I can’t help but think that they could’ve done more with this. There’s a lot of Westy 8 in this beer, but it’s just not coming out right. Too bad. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 1, 2008 This bottled brew marked bbf 8/07 from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized tan colored bubbles that were and left behind a transparent typically carbonated brown colored body and a good lacing. The aroma was malty sweet and musty. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish vinous aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of malt mild hops sweet and caramel. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again. dsm (109), Baltimore, Maryland, USA

Sweetish, fruity nose. Full-bodied, some roasted maltiness and fruit - also both notes of dried and overripe fruit. The finish is quite alcoholic without much hoppiness. 311007 yespr (12407), Copenhagen O, Denmark
